  1. Each permit authority publishes their requirements on their websites for plans submittal and they vary from place to place. DJP
  2. Once you have enabled a maximum of lights and have verified that they are "ON" then it is a matter of balancing the Sun light intensity against the visibility of the interior lights. This assumes that your video card can support that number of light sources simultaneously (not all video cards can do this but up to date ones should be able to). DJP
  3. You are going to have to be a little more distinct with your query to obtain useful answers and understanding for yourself from others. The "Scale" of what and where, doing what please? DJP
  4. I have been using Windows 10 since it was first made available now on two computers and my laptop. I have had nothing but stable, reliable behavior BUT I also have all my pertinent files double backed up as well as Library and other Chief specific files in the cloud and on secondary hard drives as insurance. That way if worst comes, then I I have to do is to reload everything. I am also quite conservative and trust no one but myself in terms of my own survival. DJP
  5. If I experienced what you did, I too would be looking for an alternative. Presently your only alternative is a Mac computer OS. Linux is just not widely enough used to support a corporation's survival, Chief must port to the Operating systems that are used by consumers who support Chief Inc's expenses and profits. DJP
  6. I did this one manually. DJP 244919330_JonesHome.plan
  7. Dutch Gable or manual DJP
  8. In plan view that is. You always want to be on the floor you wish to have your terrain visible in plan view when you import the dwg and when you order a terrain plane created. DJP
  9. I only use Cute PDF for my older versions (X1-X8), I like Chop use Chief's PDF printer as it works perfectly for me in X9-13. DJP
  10. Your "missing" windows are in an attic wall. To have them show in plan view on the first floor, they MUST be created on the First floor for their labels to also show on the first floor. If that is too hard you can copy the attic wall windows labels to the first floor, placing the text on the "Windows, Labels" layer next to the first floor windows labels so they then turn on and off with that layer. I have done it both ways just to get a job done. The software is programmed to work as it works so it is incumbent upon its users to find ways to just "get 'er done" no matter what. DJP
  11. Changing settings is just that, I know of any "magic tricks" to do this. You make a decision and then act on it, no matter the consequences. DJP
  12. What Ryan and I did was EXACTLY like the photo you posted, if you wanted something else you should have not misled us. DJP
  13. Next time you print to PDF confront what the "DPI" setting is in the "Print Dialog" before you order it to Print the difference between "300 DPI and 4,400 DPI" can bake a HUGE difference in the resulting document's size in Mb's. Your video card types have NOTHING to do with PDF size, only content, imported documents and the DPI you create/print it at. DJP
  14. My new PC cost just under $2,500.00, a local PC geek bought the parts online, assembled it and delivered it to me. I am happy, it is not a "Beast" but is more than adequate for my purposes. DJP
  15. Read this webpage on the Chief Architect Website: Requirements for X13 DJP
  16. The error message tells you what is needed, just do that and see if it helps, if not call Tech Support, they will help. DJP
  17. See my signature below, I just received my new PC and I love it AND it did not cost me an arm and leg. DJP
  18. I would define a room within a room giving the inner room a higher ceiling height, build roofs and then finish up with windows and doors. DJP
  19. I found a local computer geek who built my new computer to my specifications (see below). It cost me $2,500.00 delivered, it is exactly what I wanted at the price I wanted and it ROCKS!!! with X13 DJP
  20. There is a Dallas Chief Users group on Facebook and here in Chief Talk but there is never much traffic (communication) at either place. I guess it is what it is. DJP
