  1. You manually draw an attic wall to fill in. Whenever automatic routines fall short you step in manually, always. DJP
  2. 2D exterior views are called "Elevations and cross sections", have at them using your elevation cross section camera to obtain them. What on Earth computer do you have please???? DJP
  3. Both are good but can be made to look more realistic by YOU making adjustments to light and materials. Computers and software do not make Art, it is end users who do this. DJP
  4. By using the Transform-Replicate Tool, in an elevation camera, you select the window you wish to change, select "Reflect Horizontally" and then that action will change the henge side. If you also wish to show the henge side in your window schedule you manually alter the "label" of such windows. DJP
  5. That "line" is the line of the "Brick or Masonry" ledge and should not be "removed" no matter what you think. It IS physically there in fact as well as in the plan file and should not be removed showing then NO brick ledge. DJP
  6. Unwanted "Attic walls" on the <A> "Attic level" can be made invisible or just deleted as you wish. DJP
  7. The same way a road builder does by moderating the terrain of a road bed by altering the existing terrain to accomidate a moderate slope of a road thourgh rougher terrain. It takes time, being methodical and persistant, with a bit of trial and error but just like the road builder, it can be done by someone intent to do so. DJP
  8. Also you should study the requirements for plans submission at your local Permit Authority website to make sure that what is submitted is closely following their minimum requirements for plans submissions which also includes commonly State Licensed Structural Engineer. Knowledge is Power! DJP
  9. I run X1 through X13 on my Windows 10 PC, no problem. DJP
  10. No, a copy of it should exist in "C:/My Documents/Chief Architect X13 Data/ Database Libraries-User Library", if you can find it via Windows File Explorer you should be able using the "Library-Import .calib" command in Chief to restore it if missing, otherwise I will help. DJP
  11. I always save mine to my Cloud Server (One Drive), that way it never gets lost. I can share a copy of mine if you like, let me know please. DJP
  12. In Windows you go to the "Add Remove Programs" area and select X13, choosing "Repair" instead of "Uninstall" if available. The Windows runs a repair routine on the selected program. Sometimes this works, sometimes a full reinstall is then necessary. DJP
  13. Number one, I would run a "Repair" of the existing X13 and see if that helps. If no joy so a full uninstall-reinstall of X13. If it still persists, then a wider look at your computer is in order. DJP
  14. Rosemag, please share copies of your existing floor plans with me, so I can get started. DJP
  15. Take a look carefully at the information resident on your Build Roof Tab - Roof Styles Tab where it explains how to preprogram walls for building auto roofs, follow the instructions found there and you will be fine. DJP
  16. By default when you draw a plan, you start on "Floor 1 <1>" which automatically adds an "Attic <A>" level. When you wish to conver the <A> Attic level to "Floor 2" so it can be used to add living space you go to your Build Roof Dialog and make sure "Auto Build Roofs" is OFF, then go to the "Build" Menu- Floor- Build new floor-Create new blank floor. This leaves the roofs bearing on the first floor so you can then manually create your attic space room additions. DJP
  17. Numerous help articles and video tutorials on the Chief Website check out these help articles and videos on the Chief website DYP
  18. Lots of objects available on the Chief Website - Catalog downloads page, check it out. DJP
  19. Current versions of Home Desiger software now import .dxf and .dwg files, like Chief Premier. Anyone still using ancient software should not expect much present time support. DJP
  20. Yes, I have active versions X1-X13. DJP
  21. Views sent to layout are "sent" from a specific plan file, so if you wish to maintain one plan file view and sent another for comparison, you use at least two different plan files. For remodeling projects I ALWAYS use two plan files, one for the AS BUILT and another or others for the PROPOSED. That is how it is programmed to work. DJP
