  1. 1. make sure your roof is built 100% correct 2. if that doesn't do the trick, a solid or 3d molding will do what you need. Drawn in elevation view.
  2. My workaround...Make your flared stairs. Use a second stair for the railing beside the flared stairs (You can change a straight stair to an arc). Draw a curved wall under the curved stair used for railing. This is my 30 second example. Another couple of minutes would really clean things up.
  3. Will you be using a motion sensor light fixture, or a light switch with optional motion sensor? I recommend the switch because it can toggle off the motion sensor if desired. To your question...I'd make a symbol and it'll show up in the legend. I'd add "MS" to either symbol. Chief has one...Occupancy Sensor.
  4. @rgardner I'm referring to the "Framing Back Clip" option. 3D View Defaults / Vector View Options / Framing Back Clip: It does what it says...clips the framing. Using this you can easily prevent errant framing from showing in section view; assuming you don't want to (read: not getting paid to) make sure all the framing is modeled perfectly, but rather just to suit the needs of the drawings you're providing.
  5. Can you control the framing backclip per camera view or is that a universal setting? It's really handy to automatically simplify a section view, but not so much when it cuts out your deck framing in elevation view... Side Note...it took me one heckuva long time to figure out why my deck wouldn't show up in elevation views!! I smell a suggestion cooking...a really strong suggestion!
  6. Window Defaults / Casing / Double Wall Options / Not Through
  7. Here's another railing issue from an old topic.
  8. And if you repeat that process on the new symbol? delete surfaces, convert to symbol again.
  9. Does it work to delete those surfaces, then convert to a symbol?
  10. Glad to see you got your vanity complete. As far as the 'Traverse' sink goes...you should make sure your Kohler library is up to date. At any rate, you can see that by manipulating the stretch planes, you'd be able to make all the sink sizes from the 'Bliss' collection by Kube.
  11. Kohler / Traverse. This sink symbol can be adjusted to do what you need.
  12. I'll add that you can just increase the countertop thickness in the dbx and in plan view, right click your sink symbol to adjust it vertical offset. Should be pretty easy.
  13. Added lights are better IMO because its easier to group select them and change them all at once.
  14. Rope Light Vertical.calibz Play with this.
  15. Use an 'added light', copy the light settings from a rope light, and replicate it vertically (z-axis).
  16. Exactly. It's not that dumb, is it? The rendering tools work differently. You need different lighting sets for PBR and Raytracing...
  17. Click the big circle. Click polyline subtraction tool click small circle.
  18. For the rope lights to show up in a WC renderings, they'll need to be much brighter. I'd suggest making a copy of the rope lights on their own layer for WC pics and use separate lighting sets for WC. In the pic below, the rope light is at 2000 lumens.
  19. Yes, it has a thickness, the default thickness of 1". Your definitely doing something odd. Is the larger circle already a polyline solid? Can you post your plan?
  20. If I'm not mistaken, there is no paint / eyedropper tool for a Layer Lock, is that correct?
  21. I think @dskogg was using the "solid hole" choice as opposed to the 'hole in polyline solid" option after choosing polyline solid.
  22. the hole needs to be a p-solid before it can be a hole. Did you do that?
  23. Open that door's dbx. Go to the label tab, check the x,y position. Copy that info to your door defaults. Check to see it works for smaller doors. EDITED: Forget all that. It relative to the main layer side of the wall. So you'd be continually reversing wall layers! There must be another way... @Alaskan_Son might know how.
  24. It's working fine on my computer as well. Years ago I had insane amounts of trouble because of a Radeon graphics card. Nothing but Nvidia for me.
