Works for me perfectly. What software are you opening it in? Are you using 'zoom extents' (zooming in) to see it once you open it? I open the attached in Autodesk DWG TrueView and then zoom extents and it is there. It won't show up on the screen initially, but will once you 'zoom extents' to get it on the screen. 92613661_23-159XXX.dwg

It's there, it's just really small because your left camera is waaaay far away. Turn the camera layer off (or move the left camera closer to the model) then export and zoom extents in the importing cad software and you should be good to go.

Have you contacted tech support? Given your circumstances, that seems like the most productive course of action.

No, we can not set the max single door width. Sounds like a feature request.

Good point. However, the labels can be off by default and just turn on the ones you want and adjust placement....seems pretty simple, no? Agreed, there may be times that a more complex roof will either need adjustments or go back to the static block. But again, the big advantage is if/when we modify the design and change the pitches later (after final drawings) and they automatically update and we don't have to worry about forgetting to change the static block that is now incorrect. I think the auto update vs the static nature of the blocks is my big motivator for a feature like this vs the time saved in the initial annotation. Anything I can do to eliminate errors is a big feature in my book. However, like all features...if someone doesn't like it, they don't have to use it, but they shouldn't keep a feature from being developed because someone doesn't want it or like the way it is implemented. But yes, certainly needs to be done right vs half baked.

While pulling from library and templates is not too difficult or time consuming, a huge advantage to having these automated, besides the speed, is to eliminate errors. Such as when the pitch is changed after the markers have been placed...if one of the markers doesn't get replaced to the new pitch then field problems exist...automation would eliminate this potential error.

How nice it would be to have automatic labels for the pitch marks ... yes please!

This is related to your mouse software, not Chief's software. Use the link I sent previously and follow Logitech's directions on how to customize your buttons, including downloading their software, if you haven't already done that. F6 is Zoom Extents in Chief, so you would assign a macro of double click to be F6. Every mouse software is different, so you will have to play around with it. if for some reason you can't assign double click with Logitech's software, you can assign one of the other buttons on the mouse to be F6..such as middle button, one of the side buttons, etc. To get more mouse related information, you can go to Logitech's community forum on how to do some of that. Hope that helps point you in the right direction.

This is an old thread, but: What is the 'nearest snap'? I'm guessing you mean 'on object' based on the red snap icon you are showing in your screen grab? Like you mentioned in number 2, I turn 'on object' snaps off when placing doors and windows so that it will follow the grid and I don't have to fuss with it. I actually keep 'on object' snap off a majority of the time and only turn it on when I need it and dimensions are much cleaner out of the box. If I remember correctly, in X14, turning the 'on object' snap off didn't fix it...can't remember if they fixed that bug in an X14 patch, or if it didn't get fixed until X15...but the workaround was to turn all snaps off to get it on grid...might help someone...might not, haha.

Ah, that makes sense...without thinking I searched 'reverse' (since that is Chief's lingo) and didn't even think about the 'flip' part of the equation. Glad you pointed that out. Hopefully that will now help anyone that searches for 'flip' (no down votes ever come from me)

This has been discussed a few times, do a search to get the full history, but a quick search shows this one that goes through options: in short: Best way is 'Edit Area All' through the center to maintain the integrity of annotations, etc ...'reverse plan' is based off the origin and can throw things off (especially elevation annotations), but does work...with extra clean up. Hope that wasn't too short of an answer, I can explain further, but the link goes through it pretty good....feel free to ask any follow up questions.

Similar experience...not satisfied.

A couple quick thoughts: does it still allow them to open the file? when I open files in Autodesk's free viewer, I get that message but can still open and work with the file just fine. If above doesn't solve it, possibly try exporting to an earlier version during the export process Try exporting to a DXF instead Report back and let us know...this will help all of us.

FYI, every X15 or future patch, Chief will reinstall the new font, so you need to fix this each time by either doing as you did and uninstall all fonts and install the individual font (which is how I used to do it), or just uninstall the offending font, which is faster. All the best.

You want to keep "Version 4.00 May 30,2008". Uninstall the "Version 8.00 May 2, 2022" font. Then once you've done that, copy the remaining font to a folder for future install (or just uninstall the new one each time).

I recall Chief changing the font sizing/spacing at some point, but don't recall when. I have kept the old font and reinstall it each time there is an update as Chief will reinstall the new one with each patch. (as @Alaskan_Son suggested) I have since changed my font to a more modern one partially for aesthetics and partially because I got tired of Chief making changes and causing issues with my files. But, Michaels suggestion of reinstalling it hopefully fixes it for you. You may even see two versions of the font installed and I think you can just uninstall the newer one (with the more current date). Hope that adds clarification.

Yeah, surprised there wasn't an update/patch with the announcement of the 'official' release. There are still some outstanding bugs that I'm needing fixed before I dive in.

FYI: Nvidia Hotfix Eliminates High CPU Usage Driver Bug https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5450 I was having high CPU usage, and this fixed it for me...not totally related to the intent of this thread in regards to Chief, but still on the topic of drivers...hope it helps someone.

Macros is how I do it as well (in my template)...we used to be able to edit the program files to change the default label (long long ago)...would be nice to have the ability to adjust the default window labels so no macros are needed or create our own window defaults and labels...similar to room names, etc.

I don't like the library browser either...I have turned off the 'filters' (search) portion at the top to give the room back, but that means I have to turn it back on when I want search (which I don't do a lot). I don't like the preview (filter results) at all...I prefer the 'tile' view, but would like to make the thumbnails bigger...I'm not seeing a way to increase the thumbnail size? I never want the 'subfolders' to be included when I'm selecting folders...so, I turn it off, but everytime I reopen chief it is back on again...how do we make that stay off!!! It's also slower in general. So my issues so far: search (filter) area too large need ability to control size of thumbnails in filter results (I want them bigger) --> SOLUTION per post below: Ctrl Scroll wheel to make bigger or smaller need ability for showing subfolders to remember state of last use when closing/reopening the software...I want it to stay off, but turns back on when reopen the software slow compared to X14 Not a fan...I'll give it more time, but not liking it initially. Maybe this needs a new thread...?
