Converting Note Schedule and Notes to Library Object
tommy1 replied to wjmdes's topic in General Q & A
Yes. I have notes and legends and details with boxes around them and have them saved to the library for future use. you can always unblock them when bringing them in to your plan or cad detail for editing. I do this in almost every plan. -
Converting Note Schedule and Notes to Library Object
tommy1 replied to wjmdes's topic in General Q & A
Why not shift select>block> add to library? A separate plan would be fine too. -
I've been using the program since V8 (base) and was never able to do this. Yes, at one time, there was a version 8 base. Didn't take long to upgrade to full version once I learned the limitations.
-
Well put. I've been saying that for years.
-
Where have I seen a reply like this before?
-
Not a good answer but keep it with open risers and manually place risers with solids or something. Now you'll probably get the look you're looing for.
-
I find this sometimes to be true also. Diane, I'm sure you'll get it done one way or another. As we have been saying for years, there's generally more than one way to do things in Chief. Just do what works best for you.
-
Looks like that works too.
-
Well, the time you spent creating the image showing the problem and the time you spent typing these posts, you could have done it using solids. Just a thought. I have done this many times and it really doesn't take that much time.
-
You could always do a polyline solid in an elevation. Shape it as you like at the bottoms.

That's a huge roof pitch change. Generally when I make a big roof pitch change and even change the framing size, I delete that roof plan, make correct changes and redraw the roof plane. Reconnect all necessary roof planes. Most of my roofs are done manually.

How To Create A Roof on the 1st Level (below 2nd Story)
tommy1 replied to akabuilder's topic in General Q & A
I hate to say this because often it's not a popular answer but if you learn how to draw roofs manually and understand how they work, you can usually make the roof work fairly easily. -
That's exactly what I do when I have some invisible walls that I want to show.

The font you like, and all caps or not, and why

Arial. -
Well, tech support got her going. They finally had to drag my file from the email to her desktop. Then she could open it in X11.
-
Thanks for the replies. I'm waiting to hear what tech support told her. I'll pass this information on.

I've sent 20MB files with Gmail a lot with no problems.
-
File is under 4MBs. Compressed to a zip file is only 479KBs.
-
I get what you show on the left by moving my mouse over it. She's not getting that. She's using a Mac. This should be real easy...don't understand.
-
I emailed it as an attachment, not a link. I've never had this problem before...neither has she. I sent her both, a .plan file and a zip file. For some reason, she can't "save" the attachment.
-
She says that when she right clicks, she can "save link". Don't think that's the same however I've never used that option.
-
I think that's pretty much the problem. She can't find a way to save the attachment to her computer. It looks like the only thing she can do is click on the attachment and it's trying to open it with X10. She needs to be able to save the attachment.
-
I think her problem is that Gmail is not letting her save the attachment. When she tries to save it, she's getting the error and it's saying she's using X10. When I'm on my gmail account, I can move my mouse over the attachment and it gives me the option to open or save. She says she's not getting that either. She can't open a plan file sent directly or zipped. She's calling tech support when they open.
-
Waiting for her to send me the plan but the plan I sent is opening fine for me.
-
I'm going to ask her to send me the plan I sent her and see if I can open it.
