Thank you Greg!

That's a nice mantel Lol. I'm going to upload a few other items I commonly use as soon as I can find the time.

They are good videos. And you're welcome buddy.

Take a look at these videos by Scott Hall.

You're welcome. I think there might be another video out there that might help you out. I'll take a look and get back to you. In the mean time play with the window tools and see what you can come up with.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ChiefArchitectInc/search?query=windows https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00036/creating-shaped-windows.html Here are just a few links that might get you pointed in the right direction. I'd help you a little further but I'm off to bed for the night. Hopefully someone else will chime in before I get back to you.

There is no image on either of your posts.

Thank you Perry. SO, get this. After all that fuss, after submiting to chief and posting on this forum, they want a landing at the bottom of the stairs with with steps up from both sides... After messing with this until 2:30 in the morning and they decide they want to change the stairs. I wanted to scream! But they are the client and I just a humble draftsman... A glass or two of wine with lunch helped bring me back to earth. LOL

Joey, I was just starting to experiment with the landings before you wrote that. I was hoping to avoid having several sections to these stairs. Thanks for taking a look at it. Thank you Gene for taking time out of your day to help me. I did submit my plan to Chief and they said they would see what they could come up with. Fingers crossed it's not the landing method, but it probably will be.

"Those will be a true challenge in X8" - Chief Architect Technical Support. Yikes. Looks like I better hunker down and get started trying to create a solution. Thnak you David.

I'm looking for a natural gas connection symbol for behind a dryer, or a gas range. I can't seem to locate one in the library, or one from 3D Warehouse. Does anyone have a symbol they are willing to share? I have attached a pic of what I'm looking for. Thank you for your time!

Hey guys, I can't seem to get this shape using the stairs tool. Am I missing something? How would you create this type of stair? It has been the longest day! See attached pic.

I am really getting fed up with Chief crashing.
Rosco2017 replied to AndyGump's topic in General Q & A
Recently, Chief would crash 2-3 times a week. All while accessing the libraries. It would only occur under certain circumstances. Example: If I had one or more camera views open as well as the library preview window open, and clicked on something with a high surface count. I was only on the phone with Priority Support form5 minutes before we discovered it was an out of date graphics card. I updated it and Chief has been running smoothly ever sense. Sometimes when it would pop up and tell me to update it, I'd be so involved with my work that I'd forget it even existed. Learned my lesson. Give Chief a call. Maybe I missed it, but did you explain under what circumstances Chief crashes for you? -
This seems to be a pretty good sized house. Is there no walk-in pantry? I'd have a walk-in pantry before I had a golf equipment room. Couldn't you add a closet in the garage for the golf equipment and then make that room the pantry? Just a thought. Also, I would revisit the master bath. Too claustrophobic feeling to me. Why close off one vanity area from the other?

I had this issue and it turned out my hard drive was going bad. But I'm no expert as to what your issue is. I would be going along minding my own business and POW! it would just shut right off like it was unplugged. Sent it to Asus and they sent it back with a new HD and said it had failed.

I would have to say this is pretty basic stuff. Thanks for sharing..

That actually doesn't really solve the underlying issue. But it's a quick fix for aesthetic purposes. I'd look into it a little more, but I have to run off to a cook out. Maybe someone else can take a look. Good Luck!

This may not be the correct way of doing it, but at least it gets rid of that wall issue. http://www.screencast.com/t/S8Y5XL1mL Test corner foyer (2).zip

Chopsaw, AMAZING! Thanks you for taking a look. You have a great weekend as well!

For some odd reason the video link didn't do what I wanted it to do. Here is the link to the video. http://www.screencast.com/t/qw5xpCsGG62

I apologize in advance for the video. I sound whiny and nasally (not to mention like a girl), and I'm not very good at making videos. Attached is the example plan I'm working with. http://www.screencast.com/t/qw5xpCsGG62 BASEMENT WALL ISSUE.plan

jmyers, where in Indiana are you located?

I learned priceless knowledge by shadowing a builder. I'm not talking about the owner of the company who sits in an office and makes site visits. I'm talking about the owner of the company that builds the house along with his sons and subs with his bare hands. The framing knowledge alone was a great experience! Just my 2 cents
