  1. Where was this thread a few weeks ago when I came across a similar problem? Lol Luckily the fine folks at Chief Architect Priority support helped me through it. This post is a great resource.
  2. I double clicked on your front living room wall and under the roof tab you had the auto roof return extend 79".That's a little excessive and was most likely causing the result David was seeing in his video. That can easily be done manually. I turned off auto roof return for said wall and drew the roof plan in myself, then drug the attic wall over to fill the gap. See attach file and pic. It's margarita night at my house I better get back to my drink now. Lol Have a great night! I would have made you a video but everyone calls me ma'am on the phone and it makes me a little self conscious. LMAO MooreCraft Floor Plan Foster (RJD MOD).zip
  3. Again, thank you for all the help, Here is the final product. (Please note: This symbol was created in Chief Architect Premier X8) Custom Mantel.calibz
  4. I went ahead and gave it a whack and this is what I came up with, pretty darn similar to yours Greg. I'm a very generous person, so I will share it in you guys. Also, look in this section of the forum for a custom mantel. (Please note: This symbol was created in Chief Architect Premier X8) Custon Newel Post.calibz
  5. Greg, Thank you for taking the time to help me (once again lol) I figured it out and was going to share it. I just can't figure out how to export it as a library file. That molding you couldn't fine I created in chief. My builder buys that profile in bulk, so I wanted to be able to have an exact model. Thank you again for helping me!
  6. I'm creating a fireplace mantel out of a counter top and cabinets, and I'm going to convert that into a millwork symbol and add it to my library. I can't figure out how to make the back side of the mantel (the side that will sit against the fireplace) flat with no moldings. I know I can click on the counter top and turn the molding off on that back edge, but how do I stop the molding on the back of the cabinets? Attached is a pic of the mantel and the plan. Schmucker Mantel.plan
  7. That is awesome! Thank you so much! You are the best!
  8. widest section. that little inset section is like 2" deep.
  9. I am absolutely terrible at making symbols. I'm curious, how much would someone charge to make a newel post like the one picture below. It's 42" Tall and 8" x 8" wide.
  10. For some reason, I thought it would be an issue. Looks like it's clean to me.
  11. NVM, Just tried it and it looks great. Lol. I wasn't sure if the wall would "cut" or "interrupt" the Wall Material Region.
  12. Have you tried it with a wall material region? Currently away from my desk and just thought about that. I assume it would work the same way.
  13. Right, Just like I did in the video...
  14. This video has no sound because A.) I sound like a girl, and B.) It's to early for liquid courage. Use the wall intersection tool. Worked for me. See video here... http://www.screencast.com/t/aLPwmpkak
  15. I may have a solution. please stand by...
  16. Thank you! It is quite a complicated roof. Lol I'm ready to get this one off the books.
  17. I'm having some issues with an auto roof return, redrawing the roof plane doesn't help, and for some odd reason when I go into the dialogue box and uncheck "Auto Roof Returns" The roof plane on the right ignores the command. I'm ready to finish this plan and move on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chad and Emily Lambert.zip
  18. FloyudShank, Wait... I'm confused... You consulted a design team about how to change Exterior Door Defaults? I'm sorry, but I fail to see how what you just posed has any relevance whatsoever to this post... Maybe you, or I miss understood something. Perhaps we should both reread what this post is about.
  19. Allen I was in the Door Specification Dialogue Box, when I clicked to change the molding, (opening the library browser) it crashed X8. It was 4 in the morning, and I was off to bed so I didn't report it or anything. But it has happen to me twice now since the release.
  20. Taking online training would be a good start. Joey Martin does a great job training. He's posted in the "Offering Services" section of this website. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2967-chief-training/
  21. I think Scott's method and Joe's method for creating walk-in showers are both great ways to do it. There's more than one way to skin a cat you know? Although political discussions are forbidden on this forum, I will take a moment to say that I believe the political parties divide the nation. A nation that is supposed to stand as one. A great comic once said "presidential candidate are like two hand fulls of sh*t, the only difference is the smell." If you're Facebook friends with me, you know where I stand on this race. LOL. When I create a walk-in shower, I use a pony wall and cap it off with a counter top. (See photo below)
  22. http://www.screencast.com/t/ZKZr5gNBct1I That's how to get rid of it if it's a wall material you assigned in the room specification dialogue box.
  23. Check and see if you have a wall covering applied to that room. That's how I'm able to replicate your issue... If that's not your issue, please post the plan for more accurate help...
