Here are a few elevations I've done over the past couple of months. I haven't posted on here lately because I honestly forgot this thread existed. There is a group on Facebook some of the users share their renderings on. Here is the linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/UsersofChiefArchitect/ Check it out! There are quite a few users who have joined.

I just google this same question and found this thread. I hate landscaping and I'm pretty bad at it. I make things WAY to cluttered, (See cluster **** below) But it would be VERY nice to be able to have the option of listing plants in the library under their common name or their scientific name.

Looking for help on a mostly complete plan
Rosco2017 replied to Hitchmano's topic in Seeking Services
Not really a "fix" per-se, but more of an idea. I got rid of the storage and created a mudroom. Felt like the door from the garage into the kitchen was a little awkward. Also gave the other bedroom a few windows. The Final Plan.plan -
I've had this happen in the past with three windows. (They were Anderson Windows from the Manufacturer catalog) I thought it was something I did. I deleted the windows and added new ones in there place and they worked fine after that. Hmm.

Lol, It happens to the best of us! I was in the middle of making you a video when you replied. Glad I could help! Have a great day!!!

Did you go in to the room specification dialogue box and change the molding height as well?

What's the easiest way to up-side-down a stock crown molding?
Rosco2017 replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
I noticed that some of the photos came in upside down or on their side... How in the heck did that happen?! Sorry about that guys! -
What's the easiest way to up-side-down a stock crown molding?
Rosco2017 replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
We use this in almost all of our builds (We do a lot of high end homes) I did exactly what Perry and Greg described. The "trimming" part of my plan seems to take the longest because my builder goes buck-wild with it... LOL See some examples below. Some of this gets a little time consuming! -
Well call their as*es back up and tell them to get to work on the stair tool!!!!! Lol

Does Chief release new versions every year? If so, about what time of the year?

How to draw a foundation for a walkout basement
Rosco2017 replied to DB_Construction's topic in General Q & A
https://www.youtube.com/user/dshall44/search?query=basement Here are some videos that may help you. Are you a SSA member? Where are you from? Maybe set up a signature and give us a little more info about you If you're a SSA member, try Chief's training videos.- 8 replies

Hey guys! Wow, I can't believe it has taken me this long to reply back. Life has been very hectic! I really appreciate the time you guys put into helping me out. The winders trick worked for me. Thank You!!!

Have you thought about having the fine people of Chief Architect take a look? https://support.chiefarchitect.com/home They've solved my problem a time or two. If you (or another user) can't figure it out, maybe they can. Good luck Larry, hope you get it figured out!

Here's a better pic.

Hey guys, a while back there was a thread where someone came up with a work around on how to get the bottom section of stairs to cover a wall/have the railing die into the wall. I have no idea what I'm talking about here, It's been a long morning!!! I'll attach a photo. Anyways, I've searched this forum last night and a little today and can't seem to locate this thread. Any Ideas? I'm pretty sure I replied in that thread, but when I search for threads I replied in, it only gives me a few. I know I've replied in more than that. Hmm.

First I'd like to thank the people who are taking time out of their busy day to help me with this problem I'm having. What I'm trying to achieve is proving to be quite difficult. After watching Scott's videos on roofs, I'm still stumped. I'm trying to set my framing defaults to the way my company builds the roof in the field. Typically we use a 2 x 10 rafter with a 2 x 6 fascia. Whenever I try to change the fascia settings in the dialogue box I get these wacky results. Attached are a few pics of what I'm trying to achieve. Also attached is the plan I'm futzing with and a screenshot of my results. I keep getting this gap between the soffit and the bottom of the roof plane. What am I doing wrong? Roof Trouble.plan

Hey Robert! Welcome to the forum! Where are you from? There might be a local user's group in your area you could join. I love Chief. It's a valuable tool.

For future reference, this button should center your plan on your screen. (See Attached Photo) Mac, or PC

It wouldn't hurt to pick the brain of a power user. Some of them offer training classes via the internet. That way your feet will already be wet when you jump in.

Dennis! LMAO!

Wow Dennis, Thank you! That looks great! I have always wanted to use a third party software to enhance my renderings, just never took the leap.

Hey Shane. I do only use chief. I fact, I don't even like to import things from outside of chief to use in my plans other than art and a few materials. In the past my plan would begin to lag and become glitchy because I would bring in 3D symbols from 3D warehouse. I'm an impatient man, so that didn't work for me. Lol but Chief has some great libraries.
-
Dennis and Scott, I let them cook for about 30 minutes which was about 10 passes for each one. I didn't use bump map because I'm not sure what to set the height multiplier to... what do you guys set it to for carpet and hardwood? Thank you for the kind words and criticism. Both are appreciated.

Well, here is a few renders of a plan I did for a client.

I'm shopping around for training. I need help with foundations, a little touching up on Roofs. I know nothing about terrain other then how to place it, and I'd like to learn about construction document. Basically I'd like to start a plan from square one all the way to construction documents. I'm free Fri, Sat, and Sun. evenings. I live in Fort Wayne, IN but can't seem to find anyone here that uses Chief. If you can help, please contact me at RJDDesignConcepts@gmail.com with pricing and what you normally do. I will provide the plan we can work on, and I can get that to you ahead of time so you can get familiar with it. Maybe we could go over rendering and different ways to dress up my elevations for some WOW factor. Thank you in advance!
