  1. Rich, your settings did the trick. If I ever get around to doing that raytrace, I'll post the results. Thank you again for your help!
  2. You don't want anything on page zero that you wouldn't want on every page.
  3. Whatever you put on page zero is going to appear on every page. Start your drawings on page one.

  6. Do you have SSA? Are you using X7? I really don't feel like going back through all of these posts to see if you've already posted that information.
  7. You're going to need to watch some of the tutorial videos. Not to sound rude, because I'm a nice guy and I don't want to come off as being "mean" or uncouth, but you really have to help yourself. You need to learn the basics. Please Please Please watch some of the tutorial videos. They will explain how customize-able you can make cabinets. Good Luck! column.plan
  8. That looks custom. I didn't see anything that looked like that in the libraries. Try making that column with a cabinet. It will be easier. Or you could search 3D warehouse.
  9. Thank you Rich for taking the time to help me out, I'll try it out and let you know my results.
  10. It's the same principal, just do it over your entry and follow the steps he's supplied. You can also use a polyline solid to do this. Sounds like you're pretty new to Chief. David J. Potter offers training, just check out the Offering services section of the forum. Also great places to start are here... http://www.chieftutor.com/chiefx1.html Here... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFTWTw42JnhnfH08WovDBBw Here.. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7jB5YPuzy5utIP1tF3w2mQ and here...https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6wIJDMZNyghLQ03SnAiwBA. Reading the manual is also highly recommended. Some Most of these users have studied this software for years and busted their butts to get to the level they are at. They are also very busy men and women. It can be frustrating when someone asks a question many users believe to be common knowledge, that can be answered by searching through the manual. I can't begin to count the number of times a video or the manual has answered a question I had, saving me the time of posting here on the forum and waiting for someone kind enough to take time out of their day to answer. A little homework never hurt anyone. Good Luck!
  11. Was the column "custom made" or imported from an outside source? Do you have a picture of this column you'd like to share with us? There was a bonus catalog you could download that was titled "Columns and Pillars" but that requires SSA. At this point we don't have enough information to help you. It's only guesses from here. Please attach a picture/screenshot of this column.
  12. I've never done a nighttime exterior shot before, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I placed can lights in the eaves of this home like you see attached in another house we built... When I view it in a camera view, only 8 lights work (as allowed by my graphics card) but when I ray trace it, I get no exterior lights on. What settings am I missing? This was done in X8. The ray trace settings are out of the box settings on "high quality". See attached pics and plans. Hopefully this made since. I have one heck of a head cold and that's probably why I missed something. Thank you in advance for taking time to look this over. Gypsy.plan
  13. The only time I do this is when we build a spec, and the builder specifically asks for it. I'm not asked to do this all the time. We don't have "Stock Plans" like most builders. We are a very custom, luxury builder. If that were the case, I normally wouldn't do anymore than 3 elevations (3 Files) and you can bet I charge for my time. Lol
  14. I do what Michael does as well. I usually will create a folder and place the extra files that I "Save As" 'd in them to easily find them. I usually name them whatever the file name is with "Elevation A, B, C, etc. And then I render different elevations. Good Luck Sir!
  15. Please post the plan and I bet we can solve this in no time. If you're uncomfortable posting the plan, then feel free to contact customer support. See photo below.
  16. OP, if you post the plan, and a little more information about what you need, other members could take a look at your plan and help you out. We're going to need a little more information that "." Thank you.
  17. If you change settings in the Exterior Door Dialogue Box, every time you place that door, the settings you input into that dialogue box will be applied to the new door you place. If you save it as a template, all the exterior doors, or doors leading to unheated area, such as a garage, will have these exterior default settings already when u place them into a new plan. Hopefully this helps.
  18. Also wouldn't be a bad idea to attach the plan. They might start harping on you to do that sooner of later...
  19. Well, the reason you're are getting the room divider is because Chief doesn't (or at least didn't) like you to have "island rooms" I'm unable to look at Chief right now, so maybe someone else can give you a solution before I get the time to get back to my desk. Good Luck!
  20. I agree with Dermont. Sign up for the beta. That way you can get X8 early, and you can help improve it by testing it out. Fingers crossed for a great release!
  21. Please, please, please tell me they revamped the stairs tool!? I'd be one happy camper!
  22. Now how in the heck did they get a flipped around? Lol
  23. Thank you Scott. It was a great house. I'll attach some interior pics.
  24. What is the square footage of your home? I recently designed, and built a spec house (ranch) that was 2,556 sq. ft. with a master W.I.C. that was 8' x 14' with a 12'-0" ceiling. That home sold in a few weeks. The master on that home was 14' x 16' and the feedback from our clients was that it wasn't big enough for that house Below is a picture of that house.
  25. I haven't looked at your plan, but I'd recommend watching videos on floor platforms and understanding how they work. Take a look at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWibFFtn9Ik
