If you change settings in the Exterior Door Dialogue Box, every time you place that door, the settings you input into that dialogue box will be applied to the new door you place. If you save it as a template, all the exterior doors, or doors leading to unheated area, such as a garage, will have these exterior default settings already when u place them into a new plan. Hopefully this helps.

Also wouldn't be a bad idea to attach the plan. They might start harping on you to do that sooner of later...

Well, the reason you're are getting the room divider is because Chief doesn't (or at least didn't) like you to have "island rooms" I'm unable to look at Chief right now, so maybe someone else can give you a solution before I get the time to get back to my desk. Good Luck!

I agree with Dermont. Sign up for the beta. That way you can get X8 early, and you can help improve it by testing it out. Fingers crossed for a great release!

Please, please, please tell me they revamped the stairs tool!? I'd be one happy camper!
-
Now how in the heck did they get a flipped around? Lol

Thank you Scott. It was a great house. I'll attach some interior pics.

What is the square footage of your home? I recently designed, and built a spec house (ranch) that was 2,556 sq. ft. with a master W.I.C. that was 8' x 14' with a 12'-0" ceiling. That home sold in a few weeks. The master on that home was 14' x 16' and the feedback from our clients was that it wasn't big enough for that house Below is a picture of that house.

Ceiling Heights May Not Be Change: Varying Heights On Floor Above.

I haven't looked at your plan, but I'd recommend watching videos on floor platforms and understanding how they work. Take a look at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWibFFtn9Ik -
I do what Robert does. I made a quick video for you. No sound, but maybe you can follow it. You can view it here. http://www.screencast.com/t/t1T6bJ6Sv

Will that be released on the forum?

I'm all bark and no bite! Lol I've always paid my SSA and always will. I can't wait for the feature list. Every time Chief releases a new version, I feel like a kid on Christmas! Now, if only they would release a new bonus library of ceiling fans, my life would be complete... for now! LOL
-
That's what I get for posting on a tablet with "autocorrect" Listening *** and who am I kidding. I'd renew just for the bonus content. Lol

Let's hope they overhauled the stairs tool. Hope you've been lightening Chief. That would be a big decision in whether or not I'd renew. Fingers crossed! Lol.

Auto Rebuild Roof Covering Second Story Windows

What are your roof pitches supposed to be? -
Here are a few elevations I've done over the past couple of months. I haven't posted on here lately because I honestly forgot this thread existed. There is a group on Facebook some of the users share their renderings on. Here is the linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/UsersofChiefArchitect/ Check it out! There are quite a few users who have joined.

I just google this same question and found this thread. I hate landscaping and I'm pretty bad at it. I make things WAY to cluttered, (See cluster **** below) But it would be VERY nice to be able to have the option of listing plants in the library under their common name or their scientific name.

Looking for help on a mostly complete plan
Rosco2017 replied to Hitchmano's topic in Seeking Services
Not really a "fix" per-se, but more of an idea. I got rid of the storage and created a mudroom. Felt like the door from the garage into the kitchen was a little awkward. Also gave the other bedroom a few windows. The Final Plan.plan -
I've had this happen in the past with three windows. (They were Anderson Windows from the Manufacturer catalog) I thought it was something I did. I deleted the windows and added new ones in there place and they worked fine after that. Hmm.

Lol, It happens to the best of us! I was in the middle of making you a video when you replied. Glad I could help! Have a great day!!!
-
Did you go in to the room specification dialogue box and change the molding height as well?

What's the easiest way to up-side-down a stock crown molding?
Rosco2017 replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
I noticed that some of the photos came in upside down or on their side... How in the heck did that happen?! Sorry about that guys! -

Rosco2017 replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
We use this in almost all of our builds (We do a lot of high end homes) I did exactly what Perry and Greg described. The "trimming" part of my plan seems to take the longest because my builder goes buck-wild with it... LOL See some examples below. Some of this gets a little time consuming! -
Well call their as*es back up and tell them to get to work on the stair tool!!!!! Lol

Does Chief release new versions every year? If so, about what time of the year?
