  1. I thought Batch Materials Import was available in X6? All I can find in the manual is batch image import, and materials and "images" aren't the same thing in CA. Was I dreaming? jon
  2. Preferences>Reset Options>Reset Side Windows jon
  3. I use a Razer DeathStalker when I'm running in "Desktop mode". Using gaming/mechanical keyboards are more an ergonomic issue for me, but I do map keys for the OS and various software, though not in CA. Works like a champ. jon

    Sidewalk

I use CAD arcs/lines, then convert to a Sidewalk centerline. jon
  5. It's my experience that all software has their own set of benefits and detractors. Do a forum search re: Softplan, and I'm sure you'll read all sorts of opinions on the matter. (search the old forum as well) jon
  6. I use Acme Masonry Designer... http://www.brick.com/architect/tools.htm jon
  7. Try a System Restore within Windows using your most recent restore point. jon
  8. Manipulating your plan is fairly simple (not always easy) using the import pdf as an image (After printing to pdf from CA) and Transform features within Photoshop. If you're using a newer version of PS, then 3D compositing is also an option. jon
  9. I would add a second floor, "Open to Below". Use railings for the walls, and top with a psolid. jon
  10. Time to dump WinZip and go with what the cool kids are using... http://www.7-zip.org/ jon
  11. Thanks KT. Still not sure how I managed to change it. Darned user error! jon

  13. My "UP" and "DN" stair text has stopped scaling on zoom, so that if I zoom out, all I see in UP & DN covering the structure. I must've altered a setting somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Help! jon
  14. All my wall layers are showing. Plan? jon
  15. Sounds like some Photoshop work. Which color are you after Joe? jon
  16. Somebody on the CA Facebook page requested this style faucet. Zipped calibz file... https://db.tt/Z57WhBS5 jon
  17. I just experienced this on a mature plan (Lots of objet and materials in play) while using the Wall Material Region tool. I fussed with settings for about 2 minutes, then saved my work and rebooted. Like many things w/CA, if you do a memory dump via reboot, all will be right with your plan--and so it was. jon
  18. This is something I'm working on. I was tired of standard CA vector elevations, so this was processed using Adobe Photoshop 2014 and Alien Skin Snap Art 4. Not bad, but I may keep fussing with it.
  19. Is the model "normal" when you open it in SU? What version of SU are you using? Try doing a "Save As..." version 8 from SU, then use the import tool in the CA File menu (File>Import). If no magic, then try dragging the file into a blank CA plan. jon
  20. What version of CA are you using, and what version of SU were the models built with? jon
  21. I opened it in SU 2014, checked layers and materials, saved as SU 8 and renamed to get rid of the funky "O". Imported just fine into X6 as furniture. jon
  22. Watch for duplicate texture/color/material names attached to your model. X6 is not as forgiving of these as X5. jon
