  1. Be careful how you refer to yourself/business. Know the laws of the localities where you offer service. http://laurelberninteriors.com/2014/08/08/famous-interior-designers-got-arrested/ As a "Consulting Generalist" I rarely encounter any issues. jon
  2. Free PDF download or nominally priced hardcopy. https://andersen-books.tbistores.com/ jon
  3. Run Speccy on both the troubled box and one of the good machines. Compare. http://www.piriform.com/speccy jon
  4. Once you install your paid version, you can import models from a variety of sources. Such as... https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search.html?q=tv+dish&backendClass=entity jon
  5. Simple (this concept is relative to skillset) OOB, library check-in, check-out functionality in SharePoint... http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-server-help/set-up-a-library-to-require-check-out-of-files-HA103455685.aspx?CTT=1 Barton, I do like SharePoint. First and foremost, it is a robust, mature doc management and collaboration framework. But (and this is a big but), it can get unwieldy very, very quickly if the implementer doesn't know/understand what they're doing. It is definitely a RTFM-before-making-a-single-keystroke type of solution. As for file updates in OneDrive; it's user configurable for incremental vs. batch. Both have their benefits and detractors. Where DropBox excels for the individual, with rapid multi-device syncing and simple sharing, the triumvirate of Office 365/SharePoint Online/OneDrive is just heads-and-shoulders above for collaboration with complex sharing (multi-organizational), permissions and full library features. Like I said, do your research. Bon Dia, jon BTW: my avatar pic was taken on the old dock @ Sand Dollar about 20 yrs ago. (I miss the old Green Parrot!)
  6. And again, I'm back to a SharePoint Online account. SP can be implemented simply, if you choose to do so, within Office 365/OneDrive. Do some research on the MS website re: SharePoint Online for small/medium business. jon
  7. GIT and GITHUB have workflows designed for the software development crowd. An AEC SharePoint solution however... http://www.gig-werks.com/Pages/SharePoint_Solutions_for_the_AEC_Architecture_Engineering_Construction.aspx Google "SharePoint AEC solutions," and you'll get a few dozen options (or ideas on how you can implement your own) jon
  8. SharePoint Online is a new(er) option as well. It is a paid service. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/microsoft-sharepoint-online-collaboration-and-management-software-FX103789366.aspx jon
  9. Ray trace, for sure. And post production. And don't use cruddy CA low-res backgrounds. (My friend Ozgur clued me in on that one) jon
  10. Wow Dennis, I though I responded once... yes, very. Thank Mike for me! jon
  11. They're still to code in VA if you meet the walkline requirements. Anyway, here is the KB article... http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00884/160/Chief-Architect/Stairs/Creating-Stair-Winders.html jon
  12. B, do a search of the old forum for "Macro". You will find many examples, as well as some good discussion. jon
  13. I was hoping for something hybridized ala Bunkspeed. jon
  14. imodel, great stuff, thanks! v2 is cleaned up, w/flags. The zip file contains symbols (w & wo flags) and the plan file. http://1drv.ms/1nrSR4K jon
  15. You are correct Rich. It's a 60' (66' actually, as 6' is filled "foundation") jon
  16. All the flags I've found, either from CA or elsewhere, look like they're in a gale or hanging by a thread. I'll keep looking for some naturally draped models. jon
  17. This is a yardarm style flagpole. Sorry, no flags. http://1drv.ms/1v9yEZl jon
  18. I could've sworn this was possible (Maybe spending too much time in Illustrator). Is this possible in X6? jon
  19. You mean "The art needs to match the sofa?" Isn't that why "regular" people hire pros--so everything matches? jon
  20. Though, those 24 cores sure do come in handy if you're ray tracing to print publishing resolutions. When will CA offer a render farm as a benefit of SSA? jon
