  1. That is funny. I think I am a power user and sometimes after I say something I ask myself.... "what the eff did I just say?"
  2. Absolutely, have you ever heard penny wise, pound foolish? If you are new out of the box, I would invest in a minimum of 16 hours of training time with an experienced user. That 16 hours will probably be worth 80 hours worth of your time. And here is the best advice I can give you. Learn about anno/layer/ref sets and then learn how to use either the TEMPLATE METHOD or the SAM METHOD. If you do not know what they are, do a search.
  3. JPC, open plan and then take a screen shot of the box you checked...... I bet you checked the wrong one....
  4. One final point. With these area poly lines we have been talking about FAR, COVERAGE, IMPERVIOUS AREAS, etc. But do not forget required attic ventilation vent requirements and crawl space ventilation requirements. Take the area of the (3) attics, add them together divide by 150, multiply by 144 to convert to square inches, divide by the area of each vent, stomp you feet 3 times hit enter, and you will get the required number of roof vents. Change the polyline that represents the attic area because your client could only afford a 1500 sf home in lieu of a 4500 sf home, and you get the new number of required attic vents. This can be very powerful stuff that will minimize errors and time on a project, really good stuff.
  5. Here are a couple of vids on Michael's method. Not great vids, Michael also did some vids on his method. If you guys can get through an hour of boredom watching the vids, you will probably find the time spent was well worth it. PART 1 PART 2

  10. So, I have a client using client viewer........ or should I say he is trying to use it..... here is the scenario. - I sent drop box line for PLAN FILE , he was able to open it, however he does not have access to layer sets, he can turn layers on and off one at a time, but he cannot use my layers sets. Is there a super secret reason why these folks cannot use our layer sets? - So I then sent him a dropbox link for access to a "BACK UP ENTIRE PLAN" OF THE LAYER FILE AND PLAN FILE. He can open file, he can download but he cannot access, see picture below. Does anybody know if there is a way to access this file or is it not possible. Thank guys.

  18. BUMP, I can't explain it, but it is cumbersome looking for this post.... anybody have an idea how I can get to it quickly without hunting for it? For some reason in the past iteration of this site, I could find posts quite easily. Anyway, trying to keep this at the top so I can find it easily when I need to on Friday to set up the GTM.

Joe will be there, I am not sure about Michael yet.
  21. Hey guys, I am going to try to set up this GTM in the upcoming week. I do not have a commitment from Michael and I am not sure if I will be able to fit within Joe's schedule. If those guys can't make it, I will share with you what I know about these macros. This should be some good stuff for us to discuss. I will probably hold it Friday at 3:00 pm PST or early Saturday 5:00 am PST. I know, an early time on Saturday, I am trying to make it work for several different time zones.
