  1. Yusuf, you knucklehead, you are probably the smartest guy here except for Glenn. Try to use Jing, Glenn figured it our. Yusuf, you have some good stuff to offer to the community. give it a shot, I will be waiting.
  2. Todd's mess videos.... PART 1 http://youtu.be/EjJfbO5XkrM PART 2 http://youtu.be/6ncqtqPD0eI not bad vids, been done many times before, if you are bored might be worth watching.
  3. Brother Todd, that looks like a good exercise, if nobody else solves it, I will try to do a vid in about an hour or so.
  4. I agree with Eric, something is wrong with your stairs. How do think somebody can help you if you do not post the plan. What is your problem? You are asking for somebodies help, the least you can do is post the plan so somebody can help. He is not being sarcastic and neither am I. Don't you realize that if you had posted the plan yesterday, the problem would of been solved by now?
  5. So I think what you are saying is us folks in The Great US of A are the only people in the entire world who have kept our wits about us and have opted to stay with the more difficult and cumbersome Imperial System.
  6. Hey Simonas, may I ask you what country do you live in? It's a metric country, that rules out two countries, The USA and England. So out of the other 206 countries from where do you hale? Based on the architecture behind you in your avatar..... First guess would be Spain, Portugal?, or is it a South American country?
  7. Well Nick, there could be a few different reasons. If you post the plan you will have an answer in about 137.58 seconds.
  8. I bet the original curmudgeon nailed it. Richard Morrison, Mr. C..
  9. I can not get the notes pertaining to the low usage plumbing on a sheet that size, let alone a floor plan. Ahhhhh, California, don't we all love it.
  10. Post the plan and somebody will help. Or don't post the plan and take your chances.
  11. Oh Boy, that is nice for 59 sec., that is nice for 2 hours...... never heard of solid rocks.
  12. Glenn, I just took another section and auto detailed MY NEW INTERIOR FOOTING and is auto detailed correctly.
  13. Yea Glenn, I think I really need your help on this one.
  14. BTW ACADALAN, thanks for the question. I am dealing with something like this right now. In the past, somehow I have dealt with it, but i am not sure if what I was doing was the best method. I think Glenn has the answer, I just need to fully understand the process. This is really nothing new. I believe the folks in the North deal with this all the time, but me being stuck in mono slab land, I am not well versed in the process. Glenn, maybe if you have time, you would not mind doing a skype session with me....... once I get my ducks in a row, I will do a vid with the pluses and minuses of Glenn's Method.
  15. Glenn, I am almost with you. 2 questions for you. I edited your plan by adding an interior wall. Take a cross section and auto detail, note how the footing and chamfer looks, see pic. Not perfect but easily editable. Also take a look at my second pic, how do you get the ROOM SPEC<FLOOR.... "FLOOR SUPPLIED BY THE FOUND"...... is NOT checked but the others are... I cannot get this. 16. Nope, I would not help you. Bad attitude Bud, there are some pretty good folk here, and I have a feeling you do not appreciate their time.
  17. Probably Glenn until I can come up with a better solution.
  18. I do not believe there is a perfect solution to this problem. I think there are 3 approaches, Glenn's, Ed's and Mine. All 3 have their pluses and minuses. I think my approach has the fewest number of minuses. Glenn's approach is interesting. Note that on level 1, the floors are not provided by floor below.... thus we have what I call the virtual slab. Here are his downsides: 1. In plan view level zero, the step does not show. 2. In floor overview of level zero we do not see slab 3. To show footings for the divider wall on foundation, we must employ ref sets for the footings. None of these downsides are killers, but they are there Ed's approach employs the use of adding a hybrid wall with an additional layer to get the footing offset. Downsides: 1. Having to use hybrid wall 2. extra lines in elevation of hybrid wall My approach is the simplest. Downside: 1. After cutting a section and auto detailing, the filled slab closed pline must be manually edited...... the positives are 1. You see step in plan view 2. Floor overview at level zero, the slab is visible 3. No extra lines do to the hybrid wall Whatever approach you choose, none of them are perfect.... CA might want to take a look and see if they have a better solution. EDIT: I MAY HAVE TO BACK OFF MY CLAIM THAT MY APPROACH IS BETTER UNTIL I CAN POST A PLAN. CHECK OUT GLENNS PLAN.... REVIEW GLENNS FNDTN SCREEN SHOT..... IN THE FLOOR BOX, HOW DID HE NOT HAVE "FLOOR SUPPLIED...." NOT CHECKED AND THE OTHER TWO BOXES ARE CHECKED. This setting combination has been a mystery to me. 19. Now I understand what you are looking for. I get it...... however.... there must be a limitation in that.... do you want a different layer for every single item? But I do understand what you are looking for and it could be useful in some situations if we had the flexibility to accomplish what you are asking for.
  20. Of course you will not see a difference if there is no text on layer. It controls text style, if no text, what would it control? There is no text. You will only see a difference if there is text and IF THE TEXT IS STYLE IS CONTROLLED BY LAYER. If the text style is not controlled by layer, it makes no difference what the test style is for that layer because the text IS NOT CONTROLLED BY LAYER. Not sure if that answer sufficed.
  21. Post the plan, but if I had to guess, you changed the glass material to siding.... doesn't that make sense? You see the glass material as siding, so somehow you change the material to siding. I must admit, I love newbie questions, I always learn something new from the Newbie questions, so keep posting, just give us more info to help you.
  22. Are you kidding me? What kind of a question is that. Siding pattern in the glass? in the frame? in the sash? I see you are a newbie...... I know.... calling you a newbie is not politically correct.... I was chastised for using this term not too long ago..... you must be a bit more clear when posing a question and when you are clearer, I guarantee you will have your question answered within 10 minutes.........
  23. Typically we party it up on NYE too, but this year is going to be quiet for us. Hope you feel better soon, sorry about you blown party plans, a quiet NYE is not always a bad thing.
