  1. Try a very precisely shaped Floor material region. Break the edges with the #3 Key.
  2. Chief must be working by union rules. It seems that I forced it to work for over 4 hours without a break and it got cranky. Shut it down an back up again and it fixed that problem but not all the others.
  3. Any ideas as to why a Landing Railing Panel would become disconnected from it's layer when transferred off of the Stairs & Ramps Layer to it's own custom Stair Landing layer?
  4. Your text style must be set to transparent if you are experiencing that behavior. You can select a custom Text style per dimension string if you have some selective changes to be made. Ok that does not work the way I thought after double checking the functionality. Sure seems like it should work ??
  5. That is how it works for me. If you are in the Ray Trace Options>Lighting that is where you can adjust the temperature of the light source. Background Color in preferences only changes the 2D background. I assume you are raytracing a 3D scene so you need to change the 3D background. If that is not working please explain a little more of what you are up to and what software you are using.
  6. 3D>3D View Defaults>Backdrop, should work for you. Backdrop or Color your choice.
  7. Yes I carefully examined your X8 and X9 images and then opened my own in X8 and X9 and got the same results. It appears to me the line weight of 1 in X8 brakes up in certain areas and fails to generate entirely in other areas. Is that the artistic effect you were wanting to keep because I can see why chief tried to fix it as I am thinking they wanted a clean continuous cad line and ended up making it thicker to achieve that. I increased the line weight in X8 and that still does not seem to produce the results seen in X9 so it was a fundamental change that they made. I agree that a fine high contrast line is something worth pursuing so it might be worth another try for X10.
  8. It seems like X8 had a broken line style that appears finer but is inconsistent. Try changing the line color in X9 to gray to achieve similar results as Kevin's examples.
  9. Yes there are likely several workaround that have been used and are convenient for some, but it would be nice to have the option to use it as it was designed and not get the confusing feedback of it appearing to work but not working. Have you tried the STD Text spell checker recently. How long has that been broken ? The walls have been broken since at least X6.
  10. Yes very annoying !!!! And yes it is a bug or it would be grayed out and not work half way. Have we not had several updates since December? Or maybe The Chief did not read that one. Especially invisible walls. They are most important and maybe not always a good idea to turn them off but make sure they have a unique linstyle and are not all the same or have to make duplicate walls just so they display different. More than just a little annoying. Many thanks for the verification. I know just who to call.
  11. Yes, Is that what you were talking about back here : I seems like a bug to me because it makes you think it is working but it does not or did I miss something ?
  12. Is there some secondary switch somewhere in defaults or preferences that allows assignment of wall color, weight, style that is not by Layer for an individual wall in the Wall Type Definitions>Selected Wall Layer Line. It will show in the Wall Type Definitions DBX and carry through to the general Wall Specification DBX under the Wall Types tab but not the preview or plan view.
  13. You're quite welcome. Also if you open your doors and go to the Casing tab and select "Not Through" in the Double Wall Options it will clean up the extra casing that is displayed.
  14. Used a full perimeter wall ( 4 sides) and a single layer wall definition. There may be a better way but that seemed to work.
  15. Try this. HH 06 Chopped.plan
  16. Give the Edit Wall Layer Intersections tool a try
  17. Depends on what camera you use to view it and you have to join them, not mash them together. Just like real life but no nails screws or glue. 7 psolids in vector perspective full overview. Same in Elevation View
  18. Here are the results of our collaboration so far. Still a little shy of perfect but some good progress in the right direction. Suggestions, Comments, Questions, are all welcome. Many thanks to Yusuf my technical adviser.
  19. You have presented a highly technical build and it may not be possible with the current software in that exact configuration. However I have been working with another extremely talented user to try to find a solution for you. I have also notified tech support so there may be help coming. Could you please make a copy of your original post and put it in the General Q & A department so we can get some more exposure and leave this here for anyone else that is brainstorming and following. Please also clarify your goals if you are hoping for full construction drawings or just a 3D model for illustration purposes. Chief Architect is a highly adaptable software and great things quite often are discovered unexpectedly when great questions are asked like this one.
  20. Ok Thanks Michael, It just seems like there should be as I would very seldomly want to downgrade to 72 from 96 dpi. screen capture. Maybe when 4k is more popular chief will look at that.
  21. Yes it just seems rather repetitive and unnecessary every time when it seems to know the image size automatically.
  22. Is there any way to set the default export resolution for pictures in chief or elsewhere? Does it default it 72 dpi. even with a 4k screen?
  23. Go with the four auto feet and then add another in the middle from the library and then send a note to suggestions how it should work.
  24. Open your wall definition and set brick ledge depth back to 0" and it looks much better.
  25. Ok Thanks Joe, That took a bit to figure out but I got it, There is a check box in the Symbol DBX, Symbol Specifications>2D Block>"Use Original Plan Colors" down at the bottom that becomes available after you select "Fill". Or just realized the if the cad block has solid fill already you can edit the color with the fill options. Unfortunately this is not an option for electrical symbols, so maybe I am still not understanding how you did your electrical panel if you built it as an electrical symbol ? At least I now have a blue ADA toilet.
