  1. Is it possible that your layout box border layer is locked in layout ?
  2. Post your plan file and I will give it a try for you. But first what codec are you using ?
  3. The most obvious thing might be that you have "Auto Rebuild Walls/Floors/Ceilings" turned off in 3D View Defaults.
  4. Unless of course you left that to the very end and then import it all from a warehouse layout so it is all preformatted.
  5. Sounds like that could work but unfortunately no way that I am aware of to merge without a 3rd party PDF editor.
  6. Wow. I try to avoid details as much as I can but it sounds like you have no choice. You might import as many as possible directly to layout and then once you have a layout template set up then try to do as much of your work as possible in the plan file.
  7. It seems that you are stuck in your ways so likely the best thing you could do is let Chief Architect know that this is the way you work and it would be great if the software could preform they way you need it to. I have had troubles with single PDF imports so I can imagine the frustration you are experiencing. Even Adobe and Blue Beam seem to have issues with PDF management so it might take some time for Chief to get it worked out. While you are waiting conversion to .png has been quite successful for many and ultimately anything you can draw in chief or display as live details will likely serve you and your clients with the best solution in the future.
  8. You are likely used to working with "Auto Rebuild Terrain" turned on. So you could turn that back on in Terrain Specifications>General. Or if you are working on a really complex model that is taxing you computer setup and slowing it down significantly you could turn off "Behavior Indicators" in Preferences> Edit> Behaviors. But remember to turn that back on later or you could get messed up on another type of cursor icon warning that you might not want to miss.
  9. Dimension Defaults> Locate Objects> Openings> Select "Sides"
  10. No not in Chief but you can record several walkthrough paths and edit them together with a 3rd party video editor if you like.
  11. Use a Perspective Full Overview.
  12. Open X11 and go to Help> Download Program Updates... then you also have access the update notes. It should work the other way but unfortunately does not and confuses a lot of people.
  13. You might have some luck with the walls by taking an existing framing member and copying it and editing the material properties and then multi copy to fill in what you need.
  14. That depends on how you have defined your SIP's. If they are part of the wall or roof definition I think you are in trouble. I sent in a feature request for pony walls a while back but nothing yet. Just fooling around with a test plan it might be possible to take what chief can do and manually edit a bit to make it look correct. Maybe post a test plan file so others can have a go.
  15. What type of Door Style are you trying to adjust the lights in ?
  16. Thanks for sharing AJ. Will definitely give that a try some time as it gives an attractive effect. Glad we at least got the Technical Illustration and gradient background part right.
  17. Plan Defaults > Framing> Plan Display
  18. Good observation. Possibly the whole image was softened using Chief's Watermark tools ?
  19. Sorry they did give us that already. "Note Type Management..."
  20. Not really sure it was designed for that purpose but you could try sending the same schedule to layout multiple times and use dummy callouts for your duplicates. Or if you are not using other note schedules in your plan you could use the "Note Types" which we should be able to customize by X12
  21. Anyone have any ideas how it might be accomplished in Chief that the terrain and windows all have gray shadows and the rest is green ? I mean I suppose you could do some very tedious and precise layout box cropping and with two separate Technical Illustration views sent to layout but I would think that would take hours and hours to do in chief. I think I would agree with Larry in that if post processing was used it should be noted.
  22. Right click on a blank area of you tool bar and select "Customize Toolbars..." Search for "Saved Plan View Control " and drag into a blank position on your tool bar. Set it to "None" and then put it away unless you want to learn all about it an use the new feature.
  23. So this is page 6 of your layout and you have 5 others that look all the same ? What is on page 0 ? Not sure I understand the issue. You may have to post the backup file. Are you possibly using Plan Views ?
  24. Updated the schematic now we know it works for trusses and I found Theta. You can also get the roof pitch to six decimal places from the roof plane DBX.
