  1. Have you tried using a "Solid Fill" with transparency at 25% or more?
  2. Select the Layout Box > open the dbx > select Label > Specify Label > Insert > Object Specific. You should see the macro there.
  3. The simplest way would be to create a molding profile and assign it as a crown molding in the room. You will need to set the ceiling height to the maximum height - the cCrown molding will provide the lowered area. You can assign additional crown moldings with offsets if needed.
  4. You should post this in the HD Forum - or simply call Chief Architect Sales.
  5. Or, you can use %box_scale% in the Layout Box Label. That will always show the scale of the Layout Box.
  6. Chopsaw, You can also add Sub Categories to the Components Dialog and then have them available as additional columns in the Schedule. This is a slightly complex process but it does provide for some very nice customization. As an example, I have "HEAD", "JAMB" & "SILL" Detail Columns in my Door &t Window Schedules. I edit the "Description" for those in the Components dbx and the Schedule(s) show those values.
  7. Here's a Library of 24" Ceiling Tiles (tegular edge) that I use. I have them set in the Library to place 12" below the room ceiling - can be changed in the object dbx. Once I have one placed where I want it I just use the multi-copy tool to populate the room. The tiles can be adjusted in size as needed. Note, since these are symbols, they will show up in the materials list as well. Suspended Ceiling Tiles.calibz
  8. Rich Text doesn't block the Alt_Key combinations - but you have to use the numeric keypad.
  9. There are some superscript characters in the Chief Macros. You can also use the Alt_Key combinations.
  10. When I installed Windows 10 on my ASUS G74SX it turned off my NVidea GPU and activated the on-board Intel Graphics. That created a whole bunch of problems in Chief.
  11. There are 2 possible layers Cameras, Inactive Cameras, Labels They could be "Locked" but one or the other is probably displayed. IAE, you want to "Open" the Camera itself in the Plan View and change it to a "Callout" in order to have it display the Page, etc. ps: whenever you select an object Chief, there's a little square icon with an "O" in it on the edit toolbar. You can see directly there what layers are associated with that object and turn them on or off.
  12. There's a new bonus materials library that you can download for this kind of material "Metal Materials"
  13. You can't change the Layer - but you can turn the Layer off. For the Text below the Line check "automatic" and then make sure that in the Layout Page Information you set the Label as A-# The # character will pick up the page number.
  14. Go into the NVidea Control Panel and check the "PhysX" setting.
  15. Emma, You can't delete a camera callout if the view is open. You can turn off the Layer so you don't see it. Deleting the callout deletes the view - which you probably don't wan to do It would be much easier to help if you post the plan and layout so we can see what you have or don't have.
  16. I assume you have Anti-Virus Software on your System. There should be a way to set "Exceptions" within that Software so that it will ignore Chief Architect X8 - or any other program that you fully trust. You might also need to set it to ignore your Chief X8 Plan & Layout Folders/Files.
  17. Emma, There's a setting for that in the Callout Label (Text Below the Line)
  18. Me too. I also wonder why the Manufacturer's Catalogs don't have the Model Numbers already in that field.
  19. There's no slowness with your plan on my system. I would check all Preference Settings and also your AV Software. It could be that your AV doesn't recognize Chief X8 as an exception to full scanning.
  20. 1. Close the Plan 2. Use the "More Reply Options" 3. Browse to the Plan - Open 4. Attach this File. If it's happening with all plans then I'm pretty sure it must be a setting in Preferences. Check what you have in X7 vs X8.
  21. Is this problem on all plans or just some plans? Does the model have a lot of hi-poly objects (symbols) ? Can you post a plan so we can analyze the problem?
  22. Do you display those in the Plan (Labels) or just in the Schedule(s) ?
  23. In some cases the suggestion is for a feature that's already available but the OP didn't know where to find it.
  24. Architectural Objects (Doors, Windows, Walls, Appliances, Fixtures, Furniture, etc) all have a Component List and one of the fields is "Code". This field can be edited and displayed in the Schedule (if there is one) as well as in user macros. Do you use the Component Code? If yes, what do you use it for? Can you think of a logical use?
