  1. BTW, If you select an existing Schedule, you can update the "Defaults" by using the little wrench on the Edit Toolbar. Then create a new Schedule in a new CAD Detail Window. That's essentially the same as copy/paste but it won't crash.
  2. I would change those things in the Defaults (Room, Deck) so that they would build properly. You can always paint them after the fact. Or, as Michael says, you can specify the material to be a "Framing Material" by changing it in the material definition.
  3. Change the Deck Structure Material to a "Framing Material" instead of "Ash". You can find it in the Core Library.
  4. Interesting. With some plans it fails and then with others it doesn't. So far, I haven't lost a floor but I haven't saved the plan after the crash either. As a rule I never save when I get such a warning.
  5. Larry, Have you found that once the Plan is saved using this update that copying Schedules to new CAD Detail Windows works OK?
  6. What happens if someone copies one of my designs and then I create a new design that's almost an exact copy of my design? Will I get sued by the person that copied mine originally?
  7. You will also find it on the popup if you right-click to select the object.
  8. Sometimes a straight sidewalk or driveway is fine, sometimes it's not.
  9. Select the Block. The icon will appear on the "Edit Tool Bar".
  10. I just tried it and got the same error. But after saving the plan in this updated version the error doesn't occur. It's only plans that haven't been saved in this build that produce the error. It may also be that the schedule being copied would have to have been created in a prior version.
  11. Larry, Report this to CA. This is not good and needs to be fixed ASAP.
  12. Scott, Yes, I get the same results you do. But I would expect that if I turn off "Roof Planes" that I should only see the "Eave Line" as the "Roof Overhang Area". That's not what happens. I still have "Hips", "Valleys" & "Ridges" displayed. So I consider this a basically worthless feature.
  13. Use the "Plant Chooser" (bottom left corner of the Library Browser). You can find just about everything there and you can even limit it to vegetables, etc and use common names to search.
  14. I use "Project Folders". D:\Chief Architect Projects\X8\ <Project Name> Correspondence Images Materials Miscellaneous Plan <Project Name>.layout <Project Name>.plan (text files with consultant and project addresses, etc.) I have a CAD Detail Window in the Layout that allows me to specify a new project name and have the current Project duplicated with a new Project Name. This provides a completely new set of folders & files. I then just have to open the new Layout file and relink the Plan file.
  15. Why would you need a new layout for the site plan? I would just re-scale the layout box to fit the sheet size. Site Plans are commonly at a smaller scale than Floor Plans, etc.
  16. There's a new ability to show the Roof Overhangs separately from the Roof Planes. This is done via Layer display. It seems that not displaying the Roof Planes Layer but displaying the "Roof, Overhang Area" still shows the Roof Planes but suppresses the Roof Labels. Can anyone confirm that? Is this really working as intended?
  17. Can only be done with a custom user macro.
  18. Alan, Try this one Stave Fence Panel.calibz
  19. Rob, if the PSolid is thin you can just apply the image (stretch to fit) otherwise, explode the PSolid and just apply the image to one surface and other materials to the other surfaces as needed. When you create the Symbol it will have those materials.
  20. I would suggest just using the pics as the material on simple psolids. Then convert to Symbol. That would be much simpler than trying to model such small pieces.
  21. Strange. It doesn't happen with mine. The only thing I see that's different is that I have a border and fill on my RTBs .
  22. Bryce, Is that Chief's Room Label or a Text Box with Chief's macro in it?
