That's my goal. I have one 43" 4K TCL 43S415 now and love it. Have another in another room. Hope to add a couple more to my main computer in the next few months. Like Mark, the lines in your screenshot show as black on my TCL.

Good advice. I will autobuild roofs as much as possible and then, if one of the roofs is over-framed, I will adjust the supporting roof back down to the walls for the framing to build properly.

This is a large part of my business. Many of my clients "love" vaulted spaces. More often than not a truss just won't work. ditto

Guys, this gets us into the same "Apple vs. PC" catch 22. I will admit, the new dbx is an improvement, but not there yet. Where I am it's probably 90% stick framed roof in residential, trusses in lite commercial. The local contractors want to keep their framers on roofs and stick framing is the better way to do that. That being said, trusses are becoming more popular, especially in my business, as these new, young, female mostly (not sexist at all) clients want 50% of the entire house with no interior walls and great, soaring spaces! What version are you using LeRoy? Do you mean "stretch" planes? Need a screen shot like Eric mentions.

Do any of you guys think the new "X12 Residental Template" makes any real difference? Larry, was your plan done in an older template, or started in an X12 template?

But they may be expensive (usually are) until the market catches up and they are putting them in more machines. Same thing with the newer chipsets.

This has been "standard" in my neck of the woods since I can remember. Drafting classes taught it for hand-drawn floor plans and lumber yards/contractors always referred to door sizes this way.

Never understood CA's thinking on that one. Easier to program I guess.

That's what I do as well.

I just change them to invisible and turn that layer off. Works well and no need to fight the program - you will lose more times than you will win.

While in the plan, hit F1 and type in "default plan dimensions" in the search box. It will take you to the help files for those.

That view is pretty impressive, Graham. Is that a PBR or done in Blender? Do you have an estimate of how much time you invested in setting up the lighting, materials, etc. to get that quality of image? Subjective, I know, as many of us would take much longer to get to that same point - if ever. I am always blown away with the quality of your images as compared to mine.

Scott, yours were good too. May have taken a winding path to get to the end result, but most of the time good for generating a smile, or even a laugh. Thank you for years of entertainment; always a good break from a hectic day.

CA can get you there with one caveat - time! But that is with pretty much everything in life. I have used this software about 24 years and, like Robert, still learning. You can develop your own style with CA - the tools are there. Learning to use them to your advantage is where the time comes in. CA's training videos, this forum, CA's training, user videos like Steve mentioned will get you going, especially if you can devote some time up front to learn the basics and then concentrate on presentation style. Note: other users on this forum also offer training and training videos; just search the forums. Nice drawings, BTW.

BTW, I think I like this better, now that I am getting a little more run time with X12.
