Sounds like a tech support issue.

While I agree with Michael's suggestion that it would be better to rotate the layout view instead of the plan, I can't figure out how rotating a label in plan view has any affect on the label in an elevation view. The label position and orientation in an elevation view are independent from plan view. The only thing I can think of that might affect this is the "rotate with plan" setting in the text style. A picture or plan might help.

Did you read the support article? You probably don't need to turn off all of those settings. In the support article, they only recommend turning off those settings if nothing else works and then turning them back on one at a time to see which setting solved your problems. You have a good card and it should be able to run chief without turning everything off. My guess is that your problem is that you are not using the right drivers. If you can't figure it out, then you should probably contact tech support for more help.

Redraw it or trace over it.

See if turning on/off the "rooms" layer does what you want. If not, then you might want to create room polylines, add the fill styles you want, and then you can put these on your own layers to turn on/off. One advantage of using room polylines is that you can then edit the shape to fill in doorways and room fills won't do this. The disadvantage is that they won't auto update if you move a wall.

I believe the line style sizes are always specified in actual print sizes. If you are going to be printing at different scales and want different text sizes, you will probably have to create different line styles. You might want to setup different line styles for the various scales you are using and then change them using your layers.

I've never run into this problem myself but I only use a handful of custom buttons. I'm not sure what the limit is but it doesn't surprise me that there is one. How many do you actually have? Do you have more that are in other views or other toolbar configurations? Maybe the limit is for all views and all configurations rather than just for the plan view toolbar you are trying to add one for. What does the "check knowledge base" button tell you? When you delete a button, have you tried restarting the program to see if you can then place another? Maybe the program is holding on to the one you deleted while you are still running.

Try setting your "number style" to decimal mm and then you can set the height to 1.5.

The wall under the stair should not be a half wall with a wall cap. That's the main problem I can see in your picture/plan. If you don't want it to merge with the normal wall where the rail dies into, you can reverse the direction or put it on a different layer. Once you do this though, Chief will not put dry wall on the end of the normal wall. The easiest thing to do is cover the wall end with a p-solid. The wall under the stair is either too long or you should turn off "large stringer base". Either way, your base molding may not end where you want it to so you might need to put in a filler piece. I would just manually place the stair newel since the program won't put it on top of the first tread for you. You also could try modifying a custom symbol to offset the position but I am not sure that is worth the trouble. If I needed a custom newel post like in any of the pictures above, I would probably just use a soffit with moldings. You could then convert it into a symbol.

If you use this for your slider labels, and include the label column, they will also be different: %automatic_label%%hinge_side%

If all of the info in the columns match, then the doors will be grouped together. If you don't want them grouped, you have to add a column that shows that they are different (and previews won't count). Try adding the size, hinge side, a custom label, or a comment column. That sure sounds like a glitch to me. Of course it all depends on what you did during that "little time" before it showed up again. Normally, problems like this happen when you do not rebuild the framing after making changes to the model. This leaves the old framing around which can be completely wrong. The obvious solution is to just rebuild the framing for what ever was changed. You could also turn on auto rebuild framing but I find that this can cause slow downs. I'm with Glenn on this, you should post a plan if you want anything other than a generic answer.

Since layouts are in paper space, and you could have multiple views using different scales, this will probably not work out very well. I would send them actual plan views exported as a DWG file instead. I would set up a new layer set showing only what I want to export to the engineer. I would switch to this layer set and export each floor as a separate DWG file.

According to Chief, the more people that support a suggestion, the more likely that it will get worked on. Adding a "+1" to a suggestion is one way of doing that. Adding more info explaining why you want it also helps. Making your own suggestion also works (especially if you want something slightly different than what others are asking for).

If you select a roof plane, and change the option for a boxed eave, this will turn off auto rebuild for roofs. Any changes to a roof plane will do this. If you want boxed eaves for all of your roof planes, you can do this in the build roof dialog and keep auto rebuild on.

Well technically a corner cabinet can be 5 or even 6 sides, but I don't think that will help you. The short answer is no, but there are a number of workarounds depending on what you want it to look like. It also depends on what you want to do on the other side. The picture below shows how two cabs will auto join if the back corners touch. I filled in the space using an angled front cabinet but the results are not that great. Might get better results by building a 1" deep cabinet for the face you want, a 3/4" wide cabinet for the side you want, and then covering it with a custom counter. After you use the "place under ceiling", you might want to lower the soffit by 3/4" otherwise it will be embedded in your ceiling which will cause missing lines. I think this only happens when you are using custom ceilings like this. You might also want to fix up the side soffit too since it is embedded into the wall. I like to do all of my modelling in vector views so that it is easier to see these kinds of problems.

I think you need to mark the soffit as "slopped". You will also have to orient it the other way to get it to match the ceiling slope.

Try turning on arc centers.

Because the cabinet doesn't know it is next to a range anymore? It's next to an architectural block and a block can have pretty much anything in it. The simple solution is to just open the cabinet and set the overhang to 0 for that side. Might also have to change the toe kick too. Also, you know it would probably be a bit faster if you just selected the range and hood in the camera view and blocked them rather than switch to plan view, make a copy, block them, move the block out of the way, delete the original, and then move the block back to where it was. Regardless of where you do it, it looks like the counter top doesn't update automatically when you make the block. I just opened the cabinet dialog and clicked ok to force it. This seems like a bug and you might want to report it.

XOR, according to the program help: XOR drawing changes the color of lines in the Reference Floor Display when they are drawn on top of lines on the Current Floor. If the lines have identical properties, they are not drawn at all. When this is unchecked, the Reference Display color does not change, and identical lines are not suppressed.
