I beg to differ. It's at least tricky enough that it's not obvious to most people. It also only works if "auto adjust lites for component size" is set and you may have to futz around with the component size to get the right number of lites. And what if he wants both panes the same size but a different number of lites? I think you might then need to use custom muntins.

Like Chris said, there are already a bunch available in the core libraries. You can just click on one and start drawing in a plan and then it will automatically be available in the line style drop down list. You can also create your own in the user catalog by right-clicking and choosing "new" and "line style". You can also copy ones from the core library into your user catalog and then modify them. There is a tool to import them using "file import" and choosing "import line styles" but I have never tried this myself. According to help, the file has to be a .lin or .dat file but it doesn't really say anything about the format or how to create one. This all is assuming that you are using Chief Premier because I don't think the other versions have all of these features.

If it's just a one-off cabinet, I would just type in the label you want. If all you want a more accurate width, then just use the %width% built in macro.

If you want 15 lites for each pane, just use 5x3 or 3x5. If you want 15 for both panes, well then that is a bit trickier.

Have you tried just deleting the bottom separation on the cabinet face?

BTW, you can block a single cad line. Just shift select it or marquee select it. Just sayin'. Still might not be able to use it for custom muntins unless it meets the area rules I posted above.

So according to the help file (under "Custom Muntins"): I suspect that your one line cad block doesn't meet these conditions.

If you want one cabinet, you can't specify shelves on the right side, but you can modify the ones for the whole cabinet on the front side so that they will look right through the opening on the side.

So Mark's solution was to lower the pool house by lowering the floor heights. This works but your pool house, pool, and patio area are still not going to sit on the terrain properly because the terrain is sloping through them. (I wasn't the one that downvoted him though because I still thought it was good info.) See first picture below. What I like to do in cases like this is to place a terrain "elevation region" wherever you need a flat place. You need to make sure your elevation lines don't go through the elevation region though because this will cause problems. You can't have conflicting elevation data with different heights in the same region. See second picture.

One of the best things about being able to see all of the online libraries is that you don't have to download them all. I have just been downloading them as I need them. Of course this could be a problem if you regularly work offline.

So it sounds like the problem you are having is that you are getting off-angle lines. Lines are either curved or straight regardless of their angle which is why I was confused by your question. I'm not sure if there are any bugs because this might just be a side effect of the new object snaps that were added for elevations in X15. One thing you might want to do is try holding the "s" key while you are drawing a line. This temporarily turns off object snaps which may help with your problems. If you want to turn off object snaps before you even start drawing a line, you can use "shift-s" but then you will probably want to turn them back on again when you are done. And if you ever think you have found a bug, then you should probably report it to tech support because just hoping "they'll remedy the situation" usually won't solve any problems.

If I was feeling snarky, I would say that I don't know any way not to draw a "straight" line using the "draw line" tool. You can make a straight line curved after the fact by holding down the alt key though. I am guessing that this is not what you meant though. Maybe you have your "angle snaps" turned off so that you are always drawing lines at arbitrary angles? And yes, you could assign a hot-key to turn angle snaps on/off if you wanted. Maybe what you really want is to be able to draw a line at just orthogonal angles? Unfortunately, you can only set your angle snaps to be either 15 or 7.5 degrees but I have always wanted to be able to set it to 90 or 45 degrees as well. Or maybe you meant something else?

Double check to make sure your can lights are marked as "ceiling mounted" and "flush mounted" under "options". If that doesn't solve the problem, then they probably are not finding the ceiling plane. Make sure they are drawn on the same floor the ceiling plane is drawn on for them to find it.

There are a couple of videos about creating wainscotting using either cabinets or railings. I don't think either of these will actually follow a curved wall very well though because each panel section will be straight. There are some more advanced tricks to make them curve but they are not very easy. You could always just use a material (using either a wall material region or even just a wall covering) but this might not look as good as you want since the 3D geometry isn't there. It really all depends on how realistic you need it (and how curved the wall is). That looks like a video card/driver issue. I always find it best to play with lighting and materials in a simple test plan. Once the plan has a lot of stuff in it, it gets really hard to tell what effect the settings have by themselves. The light direction controls which way the light is pointing if you were to look at it from the top down. In the picture below, the light on the left has a -30 degrees angle, the one in the middle is 0, and the one on the right has a +30 degree angle. The tilt angle is the same for all of them. All of the boxes are directly in front of the lights but you will notice how the two on the sides are only partially in the light area. One reason you might not be seeing shadows is if your lights are not pointing where you think they are. I will let others with more knowledge comment about the other questions. My guess is that they will want you to post a plan to play around with it though.

You can also offset the casing from the niche.

Wall niches can have a custom molding added as a casing.

If you only reset the "wall top heights" and "wall bottom heights" it won't change any of your floor or ceiling heights. Basically, it will only reset your walls back to default heights when you have manually moved the wall top/bottom up/down (which is something you usually don't need to do to change your ceiling heights).

To post a plan on the forum, you can either zip it (ie: make it a compressed archive file) or remove things that are not needed so that the plan is small enough to post. Seems to work for me, at least I could not see any difference between a dwg with depth cue on and one with it off. Have you tried sending the engineer the dwg with depth cue turned off? I'm not sure why the engineer would need it turned on. If you want more help, then you will probably want to post the plan you are using or send it to tech support.
