  1. "Show same wall types Handles" does , but don't think the RC - drag does either...
  2. in 3D views the mouse controls are used depending on how the Rotation is set in 3D>move camera with mouse> Orbit/Pan/Dolly etc. the next option lets you do the same for the keyboard arrow keys.
  3. Chief or HD Pro don't do engineering Calcs as they are usually ,by code done by Engineers in most places. However even Home Designer Pro (and Chief) can do Pole Barns and other such structures easily , there are even tutorials on how to do it..... http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00598/ http://www.chiefarchitect.com/search/?q=pole+barn&default_tab=all&site=chief_architect&client=chief_architect&restrict=ChiefArchitect&proxystylesheet=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.chiefarchitect.com%2Fsearch%2Fchiefsearch_stylesheet.xslt&output=xml_no_dtd&submit.x=14&submit.y=12even http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01081/
  4. Save to PDF is native in X6 In X5 go to the Help Menu and there should be an option to download PDF Print Driver , I use PDF995 which works well and is Free ,but has a splash screen for 5 secs? when you print, Stay away from CutePDF , it adds other programs to your computer too such as Comodo Dragon , a web Browser. M.
  5. I found with both videos I had to maximise the browser , then maximise the video window , the chaptered video does revert to normal size at the end of each chapter though needing re-maximising. Use IE10 on PC anyway.
  6. upper and lower walls aligned ? did you try manually pulling the upper wall down into the lower and see if it merged properly ? M.
  7. if you follow the link ScottHarris left you, you will find the free Trial version Videos including the 1 hour long Overview video and 10 others ,but you are right not sure why ridge caps is in there.... but here it is: Overview http://video.chiefarchitect.com/?playlist=39 For the "Lessons".... you use the UserGuide (PDF) under the Help Menu>View User Guide Get the reference Manual that way too.... a fuller version of the Online help.... and all the Chief tutorials/FAQ are here http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/database.html Chief has its Own Youtube Channel , along with many videos there is also the Vids from al the Webinars (free online lessons held each Wed. I think) and there is this site m that some of the guys here have setup too http://www.chieftutor.com/chiefx1.html Terry Munson has written some good guides available here too http://www.munsonhomedesign.com/ Note that MOST of the Answers here are from End users just like you , it is a complex Program and is going to take dedicated reading of the help and manuals and watching videos and asking questions here if stumped , Chief aint an Ipad App you are gonna learn in a day or even a week.
  8. if you have no experience with CA even the HD Pro Videos will help probably and can be accessed for free http://video.homedesigner.chiefarchitect.com/
  9. maybe you don't have too , did you check 3Dwarehouse (Sketchup files) for Commerical sinks to import into Chief ? https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/index.html
  10. I'd never thought of using an Arch till recently either then saw a tip on using the Dogear Arch ( no google doesn't know what it is either ) which can work for this or for Diamond shaped Windows by checking the "reflect vertically" box (sills and lintels must be off for Diamond windows though.)
  11. @Jon I had a quick look at Masonry Designer and getting a Soldier Course is easy however I couldn't figure out how to make the outer rows lean out like in the PDF or is that something you have to do in Chief with the Texture? gotta think the Brickie wont be happy with no keystone to set the angle , he just slowly leans them over ? with a widen mortar joint at the top?
  12. Thanks Jintu , good of you to post in .3DS so those that don't have X6 can use it too . appreciated.
  13. Usually that leaves the Gable Sub Fascia still out there so I increase it's size to full rafter depth and change the material to the typical fascia colour, shadow boards should still be usable ? but on this one I didn't...... Also you may need to "Build Framing" to see it change on an existing Roof ( Auto Roof Framing has a habit of turning off)
  14. Subject about says it , the is a OTR Microwave and some Kitchen items from Chief in the Announcement Form here https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1689-thanks-for-the-challenge/
  15. Win 7 inbuilt works fine but I too like 7zip for its extra features , it's also free M.
  16. I don't have one but there is a KB Tutorial on making your own http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00463/ I may have seen one on doing Demo walls too? found these http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02208/17/Chief-Architect/CAD/Showing-the-As-Built-in-a-Remodel-Plan.html http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01170/
  17. add an aftermarket parallel port to your computer perhaps... will need win7 drivers I guess , though I am not sure about running CA 8.0 on win 7, but you could dualboot win7 with XP and use it with just CA8.0 and a parallel port addon. ( same as a printer port I believe)
  18. maybe you searched the wrong spelling ? Thread Subject has an a not an e eg chandelier light seem like way too many results on chandelier http://www.chieftalk.com/search.php?searchid=221331
  19. looks like you tried moving the Dormer? Roof hole is outta place , is Auto Roof rebuild OFF/ you rebuild the roof yet or hit F12 perhaps? M.
  20. yes the 2015 in the name made me think HD title and most probably don't use the link to Hometalk in the Help Menu .
  21. those are the rooflines and can be turned off under Display Options >Roofs>Roof Planes remove the red check mark from the list by clicking on it and hit ok. for the Home designer Titles there is a dedicated Forum , they will know your title better , you can login with the same user ID and password. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  22. Yes Bonus and Manufacturers are pick and choose ......I export and save them so I can reinstall if needed usually , eg when your SSA is run out...
  23. I thought Library>Install Core Content did download it all at once? maybe I misunderstand the question? edit: just saw you other thread about a possible bad install , so you maybe wasting your time download it now , if you need to reinstall on Mon.
  24. Chief has always recommended Nvidia cards , I think because of how the OpenGL is implemented vs Radeon/ATI cards. even a 750 or 750Ti will give you twice the performance of the 450GTS and both are faster than the 7770
