Okay thanks for clearing that up Arthur , the Auto healing in X6 is REALLY aggressive compared to older versions I have , which seemed to "play nice" when I tried it later last night. guess I need to figure out the right drawing Order so I don't need to touch anything again once done..... Thanks guys... M.

Totally agree on the One Tab for all railing info........ +1 I was not aware the Railing must be different on the Landings ......That I would call a Bug and explains why I can get it to work occasionally using the wall break tool but how often do you see that in real life ? I rarely if ever have a straight flight,as space is always tight. I will give it a go , but do you mean totally different or, is say making Landing Rail all 2 1/8 square rather than 2" enough for the Prog. to "think" it is different? Thanks Scott

played a bit more and a single fllght works fine and I can get a one rail to behave occasionally after breaking the rail at the edge of the landing with the break wall tool but I have never had to do that before that I remember. I have found the occasional auto generated Room Divider Wall in the stairwell too, which just seems strange... latest plan Landing-Stair Issue_orig.plan beginning to think I have a gremlin , plan posted fine with the plan still open this time....

would be my guess too...

Yes wrong term I guess..... I meant Open to access the trimmer and components dialog the tab key or next button will get you to the window itself that you clicked on instead of the Bay so you can adjust them individually , and tighter to the corners depending on framing and Casing etc. Normally each Auto Bay Window is sized automatically depending on Bay Size and the framing and casing settings otherwise. thanks Alan. Do you mean your staircase on the Right ? ( mine on left?) the default staircase railings will work ...note no bottom rail , but the Railing wall , at least with the glass panel from the library won't on the landings , works fine on the stairs..... ,still not sure if its a connection issue or a bug.....but works on neither landing. Mick.

I tried it both ways , if checked it joins the sloped rail and shoot off at the same angle , unchecked it falls to the ground , so I guess the railing isn't joining properly for some reason? 20+ views , 5 download and no answers except your Arthur ,doesn't bode well but thank you. M.

Seeking Architect For Plan Finalization - Kalamazoo Mi
Kbird1 replied to Jedjewel's topic in Seeking Services
" but are the proportions correct? Does the design have proper massing, scale, balance....etc." I don't really want to make this thread any longer but I am unsure why certain people only think an Architect can know anything about these things ? wow.... On a Sidebar which is why I Posted really , is that the OP is disgusted in how this thread has gone on and on with the DIY/Designer Bashing and She is now worried about having to deal with Architect's..... So nice going..... M.- 94 replies

Just like the other day here :https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/3422-railings-2nd-floor-railings-are-on-first-floor-help/ Thought we had found the answer "uncheck follow stairs" on horizontal floors/landings but I guess there is something else that can cause this fault too , I offered to look at another Users plan but ended up duplicating it simply, as a test to eliminate weird errors in the original plan, but got the same issue,so I will attach it for you guys to look at , probably missing another check box ? Landing setting? the stair Straight rails follow the stair fine, the landing rails fall to the ground without the "follow staircase" box , if its checked they join the staircase rail and shot up on the same angle..... thanks for your time... Mick Forum wont attach the plan so i'll post it separately sorry..... note to self ...close the Plan 1st, then attach

if its a Auto Bay window you may need to explode the Bay to resize the window 1st..... you may also need to check the option for "ignore casing " on resize in Defaults Plan and set the minimum separation smaller in Defaults Windows for less framing play with the setting in the Bay Window Options here: M

discounting the unfinished circular roof Bob ,what issues are you seeing? I see some wall problems at each end caused by roof plans protruding into the wall ,they need to be dragged back out to the outside of the exterior walls ie I pulled these two planes back out to fix the wall

Unfortunately the Intel Xeon 5150 is dual core only which is an issue for RTing , you could pick up another Xeon 5150 real cheap if you have a dual CPU MB like in this Dell 690 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHoCVHZJ1wM but may not be really worth it if an upgrade is due anyway this year at some point. you posted this in the User Groups Forum Ted , I can't help but it might be best to repost over in the Q&A section here https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/forum/7-general-q-a/

had to find it manually the KB search kept locking up on that search term ....weird http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00930/18/Chief-Architect/Windows/Creating-Custom-Muntins.html

looks like the Hijacker is also adding advertising links Scott , the word Malware Blocker is underlined and the little symbol is to tell you you can jump to another page...... everytime someone clicks one of those or they redirect someone , they get paid by the advertiser , that's why they do it....... AvastFree has a browser Cleaner built in https://www.avast.com/en-us/free-mac-security M.

it would scott ,back to say Friday night.....everything since then would be gone, so you'll have to clean instead , try the uninstall program panel I linked to above, and perhaps install a permanent Virus / Malware blocker , or install the Virus detector and get it to clean the browser hijack as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efnXbn1nC4E http://guides.macrumors.com/Uninstalling_Applications_in_Mac_OS_X https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efnXbn1nC4E Hopefully a MAC guru will come online soon. Like Larry I don't think you comp is that bad either.... that's why I asked, the OP doesn't state no# of lights, so its assumed ,has them all on by default ie all 168...... my 1st run was 24:00 too with Larry's settings 2passes 1:04 and with 10 passes 5:19
-
what settings though Rob? how many lights on? there are 160+ by default with Larry's (HumbleChief) settings above , 6 lights and the sun , I am at 1:04 it don't look so pretty but this is a speed test only.... M

use your Google Fu grasshopper https://www.google.ca/#q=uninstall%20program%20on%20mac

I have used Avastfree for 6-8 yrs , never been an issue for me , but the MAC must have an app/panel to uninstall programs and then uninstall PJS4.2 ( or whatever it was called)
-
looks like your browser has been hijacked , is there a Manage Addons under Tools on the mac ? sorry don't know mac either , you should be able to at least disable the addons in safari. I use the same programs as Dennis and / or the Free Avira Antivirus. M. Avast free is for the Mac too Scott https://www.avast.com/en-us/free-mac-security
-
did you try making the wall under the stair flush with the main wall instead of inset ? if a soffit ? I think Dennis is right...do manually The tread issue is probably a combination of the newel size and the tread overhang not being quite correct ie larger newel or less overhang should fix the glitch. M.

I think you need to redefine your Text style or use "Custom Text Style" and check the transparent radio button in Defaults>Dimensions>Dimension , seems to change existing dims as well when I just tried it....using the custom setting but see what others have to say I am no expert on text styles
