  1. If you look at it at 16 Terabytes...it seems huge. but if you think of it as 17,592,186,044,416 Bytes...it doesn't seem like much. Go SSD...it will change your life!!
  2. I would say do it quickly...if you are looking for the "advanced" portion. I just looked and it says there is only 1 spot left. When I got mine a week ago it said 4 spots left. Everything else says "limited seating"...either way...looks like it is filling up quickly.
  3. You set the default rich text DBX to have text. Just double click the rich text icon (open the rich text DBX and remove the text). It is plan default so if you have a plan template, check that also.
  4. It is in 2nd place... 1st goes to.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4962-processor-core-usage-in-chief/ If you don't count the "show us your goodies" thread.
  5. Nevermind....jumped the gun posting that before I checked. Working good now.
  6. I imported them on top of the prior macros and my vent now says "evaluation error". Not sure if I am missing something.....
  7. Make the text a Light grey and print in gray scale and place on the appropriate sheet.
  8. Same here. I haven't had an issue. I keep all CA Program files on C: and all Plan & Layout files on a different drive that syncs with my OneDrive so I can access it from any computer I am at (Home, work, church, etc.).
  9. I used to go through a print shop...and always get black and white. When I checked on a color print it was similar to being astronomically more than typical B&W. I now have a printer that I do my own printing on as I found out with the volume I was doing with the main contractor I work with, it was cheaper to lease one then go to the print shop each time. I would be game for a workshop....as I always am. I could show how I go about things...but it is more specific to my area and would take about 2 minutes max to explain and may not be worth it to those in other areas.
  10. You can use Premier files in Home Designer Pro. The CA file needs to have the settings marked to allow that to happen. However, you are limited to the features and abilities in Home Designer Pro. Such as layer sets. I believe HDP does not have layer sets, so the layer set that the CA file is saved in is the layer set that will appear in HDP and you will not be able to switch layer sets.
  11. Place a standard Callout and in the DBX box, change the number of arrows to 4. you will still need to place text at each arrow, but then you can make it a CAD block and save in your library. What the heck...I will just do it for you! Untitled 1.plan
  12. If that is the case...that works for me. I was just referring back to when Perry got blocked from what appeared to be us giving him negative points. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/824-perry-is-banned-from-posting/?hl=points If rep points can get you blocked, I can understand giving negative points if the person is being flat out rude...but it was his own opinion. I feel that moderators should be giving out warnings if they see fit if people are being rude in the moderator's opinion. I don't believe warning points are visible to others on the forums. I think I had one when I first got on (for some reason)...but haven't see it for quite sometime.
  13. First I want to make clear that I do not agree with the OP in this thread. I agree with everyone else's comments. I do see that the OP already has "-2" points for his personal thoughts. I am not a fan of the whole point system, but I wouldn't want to see him blocked because he was just expressing is opinion (I believe this happened to Perry once (as a joke of course)). Most of us, if not all, do not agree with his point of view...but as Alan pointed out....we need to filter comments. Not that we agree with him, but let's try to help educate him first before giving out negative points (even though I personally think the point thing is pointless ) Just my two cents.....
  14. Hear the advise given above...it is all great advise.
  15. When you click "More Reply Options", there are two steps to attaching a plan. First you "Choose" the file you want to upload. I think this is where people generally get confused because you have chosen the file, but not actually uploaded. Once it is "chosen", right underneath is "Attach" button. This is when the file is actually attached.
  16. Try again....no plan attached
  17. There is a catalog download that are 3d numbers, letters and symbols. http://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/library&reset=true Look under "specialty" and download the catalog
  18. They haven't logged in since they posted this.....
  19. In that video, Scott did have it on level 1. I think Scott does put a standard FDN (when there is only one structure in the plan file) on level 0, but when he has a house that has a walk out basement and a detached garage on the same level, he puts the basement on level 1 so it lines up with the detached garage since the detached garage would be difficult to build almost all of it on level 0.
  20. I have done a number of basements and don't run into a lot of these issues. They come up once in a long while, but not as much as I hear about from others. Not sure what I am doing different besides that I don't put a basement on floor one. I always have the basement on floor 0 and it works smoothly 98% of the time. I have watched the videos by others, but just I can't seem to understand why the basement would be put on floor 1. Is there anyone who does put basements and such on floor 1 that wants to meet up online too discuss this with me sometime this week? Maybe there is something we can learn from each other. Shoot me an email if interested....I really would like to understand the concept and as to why.
  21. I believe it is "liking" the library. Doesn't really mean anything whatsoever except to show that "x" number of people like the library. To some, they think it is a good idea and that is cool, but to me...... it is pointless.
  22. Sorry....mis-read the statements. Here is the "Optimize for Multi-Core CPUs" location
  23. Here is where you can change the number of cores being used.
  24. Hello Cornell - Bob is right....people here will need more info as to what you are doing. However one thing to correct from him is that files that are created in X7 can be opened in Home Designer software. The plan files are limited though to the capabilities of the software. If you need to talk, you can give me a call. 253.777.2362
