  1. Thats a good one! It took me "10" seconds to figure it out!
  2. So True! Didn't realize it, but without CA, I wouldn't have the life I currently have. Long story short, if I hadn't come across CA, I wouldn't have met my wife and have the children I currently have. So, I second that "Thank You". CA has definitely changed my life for the better!
  3. 1 - I haven't ran into any major issues. Just some small ones...mainly font issues as you mentioned. 2 - Don't know much about "Sugar Sync", but I have all my files on my OneDrive (you can use Dropbox or Google Drive as other options) and access them via my PC at work and my Mac at home. That way you do not have to transfer files back and forth. The cloud service does it automatically. I would recommend it to anyone working on files from different computers.
  4. they are not physically, but I need to wonder about their mental age at times.
  5. My coworkers and I find your language comedic at times. And compared to some other videos, this one was definitely "G" rated.
  6. I am with Richard on this one. I would like to see the primary be set for the left mouse button and the alternate on the right mouse button. On my houses, I am running trusses at 24" and 12" oc and joists at 19.2 and 16" oc. this would be nice to have instead of constantly having to change the spacing on the primary each time.
  7. Thanks....for some reason I had a hard time putting it in words that made sense...hence why I posted the plan.
  8. I believe this is what you are wanting to do. By using your roof planes baseline height, you can change the height of the walls for your second story. Take a cross section of the attached plan. Hope that helps. Untitled 1.plan
  9. I just noticed that I am having a similiar issues with a custom window (that I created into a FDN vent).
  10. Yes. that is what I did. I tried outlets, lights and I believe the garage door opener.
  11. I am having issues when creating a custom toolbar with "place library object", but whenever I put in an electrical item, CA crashes. Is anyone else having a similar issue?
  12. I have a similar issue. It is the "rebuild walls/floors/ceilings" icon that shows up by the cursor. Right now I have a hot key set for it so I can have it rebuild quickly. Isn't there a way to automatically set it?
  13. It was Windows 8.1. I have a Konica Minolta KIP 7100. I had called TS to resolve this and they have the information.
  14. Figured out what it was. I had recently updated my driver on my plotter and after I removed it, I started printing. Looks like it was a driver conflict. Working now. thanks.
  15. I am trying to print a layout to PDF, but when I go " File -> Print " or Cntl+P, The program freezes. I will force quit CA each time. CA will let me print a .plan file ok, but after trying 5 different .layout files and even a OOB .layout file, it freezes. It will only let .plan files print. Anyone else had this issue?
  16. I don't know if I am the only one, but I just created some new toolbars and the icons changed on me. I made a few new toolbars with "Place Library Object" buttons on them. I did not assign them at all. Closed CA and reopened and I then my icons changed to what you see in the attached picture. There is still nothing assigned to them, but why are they doing this? They are all icons that I had prior, I was cleaning up some toolbars so I deleted some custom ones to recreate them. Wanted to see if anyone knew what was happening before I go to TS. Hopefully I am explaining myself clearly. Thanks
  17. on page 0, place a text box with the macro %layout.title% and it will show up on the other pages with the information you placed in the "layout page information" section.
  18. No. I use a polyline and on a separate layer set specific for that purpose cover the area of the house. The issue I have with CA sqft calc is that they take the house walls that have a porch cover/deck/garage/etc and split that wall in half. I do not feel that is correct. I am sure they have a reason programming-wise as to why it is that way, so that is my "work-around". It would be nice if that was changed, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
  19. Thanks guys! Have an awesome weekend!
  20. Thanks. Yeah...I am definitely not going to do a macro for each roof plane. That is just way too time consuming that just looking up the "All Roof Planes" is much faster. I was hoping since it appears that CA (assuming in the background somewhere) figures out the total for all roof planes, that there was a simple way to get that value. I do currently use macros for house/garage/porch square footages that seems to work fairly well for me using the same concept. I do not feel how CA determines SqFt totals are correct, so the polylines are my little "work-around". For the second part of the question - is there a way to do a mathematical equation within a macro. I want to take an "area" of a polyline and subtract a value that I enter in. What it is for is glazing percentages. The "area" is the house sqft and the value I enter is the glazing sqft. I was hoping it was a quick easy thing that it could calc out. If not, it isn't the end of the world. Saving a step adds up over time, so just looking for ways to speed up my process. Thanks for the info guys! Appreciate it!
  21. I have a couple questions for those "Macro" experts out there. I am trying to get CA to auto calc some numbers for me. I have attached a plan with the questions. First is trying to get the "total roof area" into a macro so when I draw a roof, the macro will automatically calc out the sqft. As of now, I have to get the number and manually enter it in. I would rather not do that and have CA do it automatically. Second is getting a macro to do a basic math equation. One number is from a polyline and the other is manually entered. Any help is appreciated! Macro Questions.plan
  22. To my understanding, that is not possible. Maybe someone else knows something I don't and would love to also know how to do that. Put this in the suggestion section of the forum and maybe one day they will add it.
  23. Sorry. Mis-read the question. Like you, I don't see where this can be added in. Maybe make it a suggestion for chief to add in.
  24. In the stair spec box, if you un-check the "automatic Heights" box, you should be able to manually adjust the riser height.
  25. I haven't notice any issues. Works great for me.
