That makes sense but Chief doesn't put opening indicators on bifolds. Never thought of that!
-
Thanks Michael. That would work, but there must be a standard for front elevation for this type of cabinet. I can't find anything on manufacturers' sites.

It's nice that we no longer have to manually draw opening indicators for top-hinged doors. But I'm having a hard time with the attached. How would something like this be displayed in elevation, both front and side? Also, how to specify that the cabinet hits the ceiling so the door must stop before hitting? Any help would be appreciated!

Interesting. Thanks Mark.

Well, X8 is here and so is the problem! PITA!

Thanks for all the replies. I wish Tommy lived in Indy!

Can't Modify Front/Sides/Back of Wall Cabinets
Adam_Gibson replied to Adam_Gibson's topic in General Q & A
That's it, thanks! -
I got it. It has an appliance in it. Chief no likey.

Even with a new plan in X8, I the options to modify/add to wall cabinets cabinet tab are grayed out. It makes me wonder if I did something weird a ways back. I can modify if I'm setting default wall cabinets, but not once it's in a plan. Anyone else have this issue?
-
I swear I'm not imagining it!
-
I know what you mean. It's taking a chance and I'd have to check everything. Still, it could be a big time saver.
-
Does anyone know why there's no "Set As Default" button for full height cabinets, but there are for base and wall cabinets?
-
This may not be the place to ask this, but I'm looking for someone to do the occasional whole-house as-built drawing in the Indianapolis area. I'm not lazy, it just takes too much time away from the actual designing.

OMG! That's hilarious. Thanks so much.

Here's the plan. Wall issue.zip

I have tried. Maybe I'm missing something. I'll post it, thanks!

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get Chief from clipping this little angled wall back? The "Right" image is drawn with CAD fill, but obviously it won't look like that in a rendering unless I add P solids as a workaround. Am I missing something?

I only use all caps and don't have a problem on a PC.

Ray, thanks so much. This is really helpful!
-
Ray, would you mind posting your chief file of that? I'm about to embark on my first log home and would love to see your wall assemblies, etc. It could be a great lesson!

Here's the plan. Man, the website rejected it three times first. Thanks for taking a look. The cabinet in question is the one containing cooktop. Montomery 02.plan

There is a custom counter top. The cabinet still doesn't clip when another one touches it.
-
Rather, I cannot get them to stay clipped if another cabinet touches or is close to its side. As it's common to clip a deeper depth cabinet when placing a sink or cooktop in a deeper cabinet (27"), what do y'all do in this circumstance?

Does anyone export their time tracker data into Excel? I can't figure out what cell format to use to get the time to calculate correctly. I'll bet it's a simple choice, but I've not found it!
