  1. In plan view. I locked the wall layers so I wouldn't delete them. Marquee select is set to Select Intersected Objects. Perhaps it's designed to work this way, but each time I group-selected a bunch of wall framing, the program would decide which studs in a given wall to delete, usually the smallest wall within the selection. I don't see why it would do this when it allows me to group-select any other framing for deletion.
  2. I could swear I've done this before, but now I cannot group-select a bunch of studs for deletion. When I marquis around them, a few will select but most don't. Feel free to inform me if I'm losing my mind. No problems group-selecting other framing members.
  3. Why don't they default to ALL CAPS? It's crazy to have to do that for each label. AIA and NKBA require all text to be in capital letters. Is there a check box that I've missed?
  4. Agreed. It's a PITA when I do exactly that. If they're going to provide a way to do sloped insulation panels, they may as well include cant strips!
  5. Larry, I think you have to do it manually. I vaguely remember having this issue before. I assume Chief freaks out when there's no overhang. I also vaguely remember having to manually put a molding line up as the drip edge.
  6. This is why I love this community. Thanks all!
  7. I thought I'd seen a training vid on this too but I don't see it.
  8. What second floor? It's a single level. That's my problem!
  9. I'd love opinions on the best way to properly draw and model this. How does one draw walls on top of a roof like this? I'm pretty good with Chief roofs, but I don't recall doing something like this.
  10. I had more issues with the last bit of grammar than the first!
  11. James, that was it! It was set to Universal Scroll. Hidden in the Other menu was the middle button choice. Thank you!
  12. Perhaps it is. Can you suggest a way to test that?
  13. I appreciated Scott's video about hot keys for fast zooming.
  14. H'mm. I wonder if it's my mouse or my settings.
  15. Do most users hold the scroll wheel down to pan around a plan or elevation? My Logitech MX600 doesn't seem to allow this, but I remember having done it in the past. It's so slow to zoom out and back in to get to a new location. Any suggestions?
  16. The title says is all. What's up with that? I don't remember ever having this issue. I placed the doorway in the wall to the right. It created the matching opening just fine, but only put jamb on the right side.
  17. Guess I've had my head in the sand. Has anyone on Chief Talk entered? I just submitted one. There are quite a few cool kitchens there, as well as some duds, but more are definitely needed. It's on their facebook page.
  18. At least it's easy with the PDF maker I use: Adobe Acrobat X.
  19. I think you're out of luck, but someone smarter may be able to help. You can, however, combine the separate PDFs into on file with six pages quite easily.
  20. I was about to post and then read this. My problem is a bit different this time (although I've experienced all the ones described here). One of the new aspect of X6 that I really like is when I for example select the measurement drop down tool, all the available options appear to the left of the screen. Suddenly that went away, so no I actually have to select one of the drop down choices. I've even reset the toolbars to no avail.
