  1. Sorry David but that is not true. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/blog/chief-architect-premier-vs-interiors/ https://cloud-hd.chiefarchitect.com/1/pdf/product-info/compare-chief-architect-to-home-designer-pro.pdf I will agree that Home Designer Pro can do the roof the OP is asking for but there are actually quite a few differences for the roof tools between the three products.
  2. Have the client try using a fresh chief template plan and layout. Most of the issues is older files brought forth that has different settings that are affected by new version refinements or new tools. Not always the case but it is generally recommended to start a new template file for each version release.
  3. Look closely at this panel and specifically the Style options for both lines.
  4. Do you have a question? The default is already at 1:1 you scale it when you put it into layout, or if you draw it in something else manually. By default you are already there.
  5. Not that familiar with Lenova yoga but I thought that was a lightweight notebook style laptop. Does it have the graphics capability to run x13???
  6. Correct there is no polyline default schedule. However once you have created a custom schedule to report polylines then yes there is a polyline schedule. But thank you for clarifying this for the OP and any others looking for how to do this in X14. Good information.
  7. Sounds like you are overthinking this assuming you have x14 and know about polyline schedules???
  8. Yes. Select both of those walls open them and on roof panel change your roof type to hip and set your roof pitch to 3 or default to 4.
  9. As Mark mentions this is what will fix it. You also have lots of walls disconnected in the other rooms.
  10. You need to close Chief out first then upload. File will be locked by chief when open.
  11. Sorry impossible to diagnose with that picture. You will need to upload the plan to get further assistance.
  12. Not sure this is 100% possible with the flush cutting the corner off. Probably closest you can do is setup your ceiling height on the upper floor to 1.5" which is what would be done IRL since it will need a plate to sit on instead of on the subfloor. Set your rafter cut to plumb and your overhang to 0.
  13. So are you looking for a way to do it other than with the Defaults, or turning the layer off? What is your end desired results?
  14. With X13 using the line overlay option. Looks like you are still using X12 See above comment. BTW It is a much cleaner look if you use the vector view and send to layout with plot lines instead of live. It will be a much cleaner crisper view and more compatible/in line with Cad Drafting standards.
  15. Attach a link to a cloud share file of the plan. Best guess from the view is that your terrain region for where the house is sitting is missing or not set to 0 Terrain is dropping down to the only elevation information it has which is the -36" that you have on the plan.
  16. You can show it open as it shows here by making a custom door with the side slides as part of the door symbol. To show it with it slid in is currently not possible with the same cabinet. Typically this is done by annotation.
  17. They act just like a set of stairs, next time use a railing wall set to follow the stairs.
  18. You can do it that way but you have to change it in the components tab as mentioned above:
  19. Rooms are defined by walls, floors and roofs. Select the wall that makes up the perimeter of the porch in real life, use that wall type and draw the room. With auto roofs turned on you can set your room to have a roof over this room (OOB the Porch has this selected) set your walls to show what type of roof you want, (i.e. gable, hip, shed, etc.) and done. You will have to set settings for the foundation if it is a deck porch, or a patio type porch. @SNestor Steve Nestor with My Chief Skills has several good videos on how to do them to help you along.
  20. I personally use the same plan name for all so they don’t have to be delinked. Just duplicate your folder and give the folder newest date. Inside you have your house as built new and layout files with the same name. I.E. I am working on a large addition for client Morales. Job folder 2022_Morales Addition > Plans > CA > 20220615_Morales Addition: inside that folder I have 2022_Morales AB.plan 2022_Morales New.plan and 2022_Morales.layout files next revision the folder gets duplicated and renamed with the current date. Chief will look at the same folder for the plan first so it won’t unlink.
  21. Yes it actually works better with my newer Mac studio with Mac ultra chip than it did with my older Mac with intel chip. It’s a game changer for 3d
  22. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/335/using-a-framing-reference.html
  23. If it permeates the roof or exterior wall it will pickup the sun. Toggle sunlight and see if it goes away. If so then pull it inside and don’t let it permeate the roof or wall.
  24. It is actually easier than that. Just click on the "Default" wrench to unselect it and it pops to 3". I think it should as you mentioned show what the actual offset is for it to be at the preset 36" instead of showing the overall default. But not worth the time for the suggestion/time away for the programmers taking away from other tasks for my workflow needs.
