Use plan footprint tool to create the building outline in your cad detail. Then add cad as required for other components.

Interesting idea, How does it work in practical application. Meaning how do you set the metal roofing and flashing so that it lays under the comp above? Step down the framing 1 1/2" or so?

Pretty smooth Perry

Roof planes are slightly off at the table end. Again... signature please if you want to be taken seriously here.

Questions about video card adequacy for rendering

High end Nvidia cards work well for many. Should add a signature like most serious users if you want good replies and to develop a solid rep. -

If all you have is the railing it should be very simple to take an elevation view of it and add dimensions and notes as needed. This assumes that you have the railing designed as you want in the first place. Regarding the signature...it not only helps all of us understand the version and equipment you are using but also demonstrates a level of commitment on your end

Maybe 3d warehouse? Polyline solids converted to symbols seems like a good move. Most powder river panels and chutes are pretty simple

And filling out your signature is always helpful

Pretty vague....could be many things, I had a similar issue with project browser, Michael suggested preferences ~reset side window defaults. Boom . Done.

Best to view tutorials and ref manual to learn the basics- then ask more advanced questions here. Also fill out signature as we all have.

Also fill out a signature with version, OS, etc... Always helps

How do you use CA and not have dual monitors! My graphics card driver recognizes screen 1 and 2. One you go dual you never go back.

Follow David's lead. Don't use all on to start too much editing. Start with something closer to what you ultimately want. Take framing anno set for instance and copy it. Go through the individual components -text, arrows, dimensions, etc.. and copy or edit them to customize for decks. Then copy framing layer set and name decks. Then make sure decks anno set uses decks layer set.

Absolutely.....very standard assembly. And nice post with the example pics...

Looks like you need some practice with manual roofs planes. Not a complicated roof system really. I would try some of the tutorials ...they will help you learn the basics. Also it is good to fill out your signature before Eric asks you to...

Of course....establish "decks layer and send to layout. Am I missing something? Seems pretty straight forward.

Ditto on the Nvidia card. I think my 970 was 400.00 new....worth every penny and still going strong.

I don't think CA or Simpson offer any 3d symbols......Unless you go through a 3rd party like 3d warehouse as mentioned above.
-
Agreed with David- very simple to manually raise the beam and trim the joists. Make sure to turn off auto deck framing and turn on keep framing after room deleted.
-
Agreed with Cross above- but your call either way. I just know how valuable Premier has been fro me- never a regret.
-
I have never used interiors - only Premiere since Ver 9- but if this is your profession I suggest using the full version of Premiere. It has been an incredible asset in growing my business over the last 10+ years. And as a builder I am sure you know the value of buying the right tool the first time

I am a builder as well and would suggest stepping up to a full version. The ability to create full construction docs is well worth the cost. And for my money, being able to view the entire structure from any angle- with any framing view- so that you are fully confident the design is buildable in the field........ there's the real value.

Love me some 3D warehouse... Always been a smooth download and import to CA.

Might as well jump on board- attached fire wall detail commonly used around here. Valid for rental units or individually held properties such as condo plats and townhomes. TYPICAL BUILDING FIRE SEPARATION DETAIL.dwg
