  1. It appears that you have a 2 story clear area in the front center of the home- defined by the railing on the upper floor. Select the "room" in this area and define as open below. Then set the ceiling in this "room" to match the absolute ceiling height of the 2nd floor. Then uncheck ceiling above this room to create the vault.
  2. There is a lot to be determined here.... What are the room layouts adjacent to the opening? What floors and ceilings. Posting a plan can help others help you. And filling out a signature will as well
  3. Probably best to create symbol for the door style you want. Combinding door panels and hardware is pretty straight forward. You should really set up a signature as many others sugest if you plan on being a long time member of this forum.
  4. Well done. Atta boy for you
  5. Update to Windows 10 created all kinds of issues for me with display. Mostly toolbar or spell check windows opening in different locations on either monitor. Need to spend some time diving into it or maybe enlist some professional help.
  6. I keep a separate folder for each version of CA. Then copy older plans into the latest version folder and open there. No issues so far.
  7. Are you sure you actually created a terrain perimeter?
  8. Restarted computer and Ca this am- back in business. Thanks much for the advice. displays are still a bit quirky- spell check pop-ups all over the place, things like that- but too much work right now to dive down that rabbit hole
  9. Correct on X8. Wil check a few more things when I get in the office and circle back
  10. Thanks for the input but no go- It all started when my computer auto upgraded to windows 10--. Dual monitor displays have been quirky ever since. Lots of funk stuff. Not sure what to try next.
  11. Probably simple explanation but recently my project browser does not open up when I click on it - no matter in toolbar or otherwise. Library open fine in normal location - but no project browser. Any suggestion welcome
  12. Sorry, no toe kick. Not sure what i was thinking there.
  13. Would be a beautiful thing for sure
  14. May need to eliminate some of the face components. I am guesing you will only want the toe kick, refer opening and maybe an upper.
  15. As Chop said- have the truss co build down the bottom of the tail and return to the wall for the soffit. The detail of the rafter tail and soffit should give them enough info to hit it right. If you had open soffit with finish material on top of the tails, as we do here quite often, we would rip the 2x12 rafter tails to 2x6 to match the truss tails and adjust the heel ht. as well.
  16. The meter is- The ceiling unit is from 3D Warehouse- don't know what I ever did without that site
  17. Thanks for the advice - worked out sweet. This one is a simple supply - next project is more involved but I like where it is headed. Can't wait to play with the spiral ducting moldings.
  18. Thanks so much for the responses . I will move forward wit the moldings as Eric and Mick suggested.
  19. I do work for a mechanical contractor and he is needing some isometric drawings fro gas piping layout- similar to the attached screen shot but I imaging we can do better in CA. any suggestions on what the most efficient way to attack this is?
  20. Unless there is something I am not aware of you can't explode and edit symbols like you can arch blocks.
  21. Much agreed with the option of no snap. Seems like a simple radio button options would be the easiest solution.
  22. My first try at contributing here but I thought this fireplace set up was pretty cool. Left it as Arch block and not converted to symbol so you can edit the openings created from the p-line solids. Let me know if it is in an acceptable format an di will try and offer more when the good ones come along. MODERN 3 SIDED FIREPLACE.calibz
  23. When import from 3d warehouse I have to import older skp versions. Usually 2015 works
