  1. I am trying to use this pdf site plan in a set of CDs and for some reason my computer is having trouble with it. When trying to place it directly into layout CA crashed (first time in a long time). Made a new plan just for topo, file size is not larger than the main house plan for this drawing set, but zooming in and out and panning are too slow and computer sounds like it is working extra hard. Whats the problem with this file ? Dondero Partial Topo.pdf
  2. Well of course this will only be an option for a building on a near level lot. On a slope you would need to use a cad mask
  3. Hand drawn (you can make your own CA cad detail) detail showing a deck connected to house floor framing with HDs. and threaded rods. From a project two years ago drawn by a local architect.
  4. Thanks for taking the time to show that. Craziest wall structure ever. Plan checkers nightmare.
  5. What is that kind of 'pop out' upper wall ? Storage ? Shelves inside ? Never seen that before.
  6. What is the width of the object you are replicating? If for example it is 4" then a spacing of 5 1/2" would result in copies with 1 1/2" spaces.
  7. Send the elevation to layout and pull the bottom of the layout box containing the elevation up to hide the footings
  8. I am signed in, using a desktop Dell computer, and cannot see signatures. No biggie just a puzzle Nope not using mobile theme.
  9. Lew once told us the guy's name is Joe King. I'm the only one that believes him.
  10. This is not exactly your answer, but after drawing the second wall the length you can in zoomed in, select it and enter the complete length and it will complete itself. Might be faster.
  11. I did a tavern. There was engineering, and the engineer called the inside of the tavern the "Assembly Area".
  12. Here in Sonoma Co., you can schedule an appointment with Permits and Resources for an orientation if it's your first Cal Green project. I did this about 18 months ago. I met with a senior plan checker, and they went through the forms with me, took about an hour. There was no fee.
  13. When I recently moved mine from one PC to another, I was advised by tech support to save it to a flash drive then transfer. No problem.
  14. Because everything on layout page 0 will show on the rest of the pages (which is why your title block, project name etc are there), you can place temporary markers that will show on the rest of the pages, (like a red arrow to show where to drag the upper left corner of floor foundation etc plans). Then all your plans will be at the exact same place on their pages. You only need to delete them (the temp markers) when layout is ready.
  15. I've figured it was so that the quick and cheap replacement companies could sail along. Permiting requirements for that might slow down, add expense, and even prevent some from doing an upgrade that saves energy, creates jobs, etc,
  16. I use a grey or parchment background in Chief for just this reason. This is a little off topic, but I have for a long time used select all to make web reading more comfortable. Right click on this post and pick select all and you should have a refreshing blue background with nice white lettering, easy to look at.
  17. It still shows up on the Sonoma County PRMD website as current. I sent the ombudsman a note asking and will let you know what I find out,
