  1. With all due respect Graham you are incorrect. The red cast is still there when I remove the dresser and desk. Besides they are brown not red. THis light bleed things goes waaaaay back and has been complaineed about many times. When Scott Harris was here last fall I showed it to him in another plan and sent it in for him to look at when he got back to CA. No solution.
  2. Here is another example. Exact same settings for each ray trace. In one picture I removed the dresser and desk. Why am I getting a glow from behind the furniture??? I also get a red tint. The exterior trim is in fact red but should not be coming into the room! ;o( CA, what can you do to stop this. IT has been ongoing for quite a while now....
  3. Thanks guys, Glenn. I will give these a shot.
  4. As Jere points out your tub dimession is to the outside of the wall. Also, if you want to use rendered images sometimes with small rooms like bathrooms it helps to make a wall invisible and shoot the camera from farther away so you cna capture more of the space.
  5. In X8 the zoom is now the trolly camera if I remember reading it right. The trolly camera always was a bit wonky. I think it needs attention.
  6. Hold down the control key when trying to open another version. Does that help?
  7. That light bleed IS A PITA!. Roofs don't necessarily help. Chief needs to address this, fix it or tell us what we are doing wrong.
  8. yes, that is what I did and it is a custom door panel I made from polyline solids. The library did not have a plane single pane glass door.
  9. Scott - like this? Also inset panel
  10. Michael - I did/do have X7. Was just appreciating both it and X8. Dermot - I made my cabinet front door framed glass, chose custom face for side, and door panel. I did not get a framed door panel with glass.. As mentioned above I did created my own framed glass panel and used that to get what I want.
  11. Michael - I was interested in a wall cabinet. I just made a simple one lite glass door panel and it works fine. Just didn't know if there was an option I was missing. Obviously matching front created a problem if you don't want hardware for an operable door. The cabinet features are getting better and better. LOVE the split horizontal - vertical options!!
  12. Trying to see how flexible the new options are for cabinets. I did a framed glass panel, match front. Well that gives me a door with a knob(default) What if I just want a pane and no knob? Can't turn off knob for just that door panel. I can install a custom panel but don't see any plane single glass panels anywhere. Do I have to make one for my library or is there another way? I am envisioning glass inset panels on left and right side.
  13. "the large number of flowers required makes the file very large and unmanageable." you could do the arch and flowers in a seperate lan, convert to symbol and bring into the working plan.
  14. ANother possibility, especially if custom lights. Of they are spot lights is the direction set to minus 90....-90 degrees i.e. pointing down?
  15. what is the thickness of the finished floor?
  16. That is very strange for a 30 minute ray trace. You may want to post the plan and have others take a look.
  17. Tom - been out all morning and heading out again but THANKS! I see you are using a combination of the two. I will study it more when I get back. Had a quick go on my plan but have to get the railing stacked over the panel. I'll BE BACK!
  18. Shelby - good ray tracing takes some time and patience. It's not a flip the switch kind of thing but more of an art form. You have to experiment with different types of lights and their locations until you get what you want. ALso, the adjust image properties as Michael suggested. Different scenes with different elements and textures present their own challenges. Good Luck!
  19. Tom - is that a stair railing or a wall railing? Not sure how you got those results, top rail over panel sections. And that gooseneck connection is great. Can you post the plan?
  20. Shelby - For sun light you need to put the sun angle and north pointer into your plan. Set the time of day to either early-mid morning or late afternoon to get the sun to come in through the windows. Rotate the north pointer to easily rotate the sun angle indicator. Also, I deleted all but one point light behind the camera. THe one I left was not on so I turned it on. Don't know about the others. I also adjusted the pendants(lower) and recessed lights lower. drop off and cut off angle. There was a texture for the cabinets I think that is not attached. THe slab cabinet doors definitely need work to look good in a ray trace. I did 4 passes.
