  1. Did you hit the Toggle Textures toolbar button or the hotkey for Toggle Textures?
  2. Mick, I have attached a vid explaining Yusuf's method. I hope you don't mind Yusuf - it's a good tip. http://screencast.com/t/y2wb28Rx
  3. Here is a stretchable downpipe that may come in handy. Downpipe.calibz
  4. Here is a stretchable downpipe that may be of use. Downpipe.calibz
  5. Kelly, Those would be very thick lines. I think you meant to say that the pen thicknesses range from .15mm to 1.2mm. The OOB setting for line weights is a line weight of 1 = 1/100mm. So that a line weight of 25 = .25mm. Steve, You don't really say exactly what troubles you are having with line weights. OOB line weights work fine. Exactly what troubles are you having?
  6. Mick, yes, I did notice the slowness. Terry, The slowness with the plan is caused by the Custom fill you are using in some of your wall definitions. Get rid of the custom fill and change it to a Solid fill and things speed up.
  7. Adam, I can't duplicate your problem with a 0 - I only get the 0 prefix for single digits. Try using a space for the prefix and you don't get a 0 prefix for single digits. Maybe this is controlled by a system setting?
  8. Terry, Your garage has a 8" wide stem walls. Your house has 12" wide stem walls. Both footings are 12" wide, "Center Footing on Main Layer". You need to change this to "Align Footing on Outside". Just delete the footings around the Porch if you don't want them. Chief builds the footing between an internal and an external (Porch) room, so if you are doing an auto foundation, rename the Porch to Unspecified or an internal room name. The footing around the Porch would be the correct behaviour as there is usually a step down to a Porch for waterproofing.
  9. Kirby, Do you want to adjust the overall size of the bay or the individual windows in the bay?
  10. Alan, All I am suggesting is that until we get a Find and Replace in Chief, it may be possible, with a bit of sculldugery, to use Chiefs Spell Check tool to do what you want. It just means that you have to edit a couple of system files to do it. This would be worthwhile when there are a lot of instances to find and replace in a large drawing. This works pretty much the same as you describe for AC.
  11. Alan, It is possible with a little digging and editing of the spellchecker files that Chief uses, to use it as a find and replace. The method is to get the spellchecker to recognise 2010 as a misspelling and change it to 2014. Let me know if you would like me to do a demo. Doug, I think you use a third party spell checker? Could it somehow be incorporated as part of that tool? I have had some success in the past by editing the spell checker files to find and replace text - as per Alan's example above.
  12. Mark, It looks like you could be using Rotate Plan View to do the rotation. BEWARE of this tool. It rotates the drawing "board" which means that it also rotates the co-ordinate system - meaning that zero degrees is no longer at 3 o'clock. Also, it will not rotate the view in layout.
  13. Scott, It's that "external room" that you have built with the railing wall. The rooms ceiling is cutting into the cladding. You can designate one of the railings as No Room Def and the problem goes away. Or you can uncheck Ceiling Over This Room. There are probably other ways as well. So..., there are a couple of solutions depending on how you want the model built and the purpose of the external rooms.

Ref Manual? You mean there is a ref manual?

    Cad

What? You didn't like my "Cad mode" technique?
  16. Shan, Sorry, I can't help an more unless you explain yourself more clearly. I am still confused.
  17. Shane, I don't understand your post.

    Cad

Start the Draw Line tool. Instead of drawing a line, left click to select only cad objects.
  19. Mike, This is the thread. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2175-super-quick-access-to-sun-angle-dvx-in-camera-mode/page-2?hl=shadows Have a look at my post #30
  20. Shane, OK, try this. You may need to adjust things to get them exactly correct. All auto build roofs. Porch roof plan 2 GLENNS AMENDED 2.zip
  21. Shane, What I posted was not a "workaround". Your 2 pictures show 2 different results. Which one do you really want? Either is easy to set up and auto build using the settings I gave you.
  22. I posted a technique a little while back that enabled the sun to follow the camera so that the sun always shone on the visible sides of the building.
  23. Shane, You need to reduce the height of the Porch roof and then use the Pitch Options to set the Upper Pitch to 10" as per the dbx below (this is the porch railing wall dbx) - you will need to adjust the values shown as I just did a quickie for demo purposes: Oh, to get the gable to build, break the railing wall either side of where you want the gable and change that bit of railing back to a single pitch. Auto rebuild roofs. I'll post the plan Porch roof plan 2 GLENNS AMENDED.zip
  24. Mick, He was doing it by selecting the auto molding polyline that holds the gutter molding and then changing the molding. That's only good until a rebuildt and then the gutter molding goes back to the default. Richard, If only that were true!!
  25. Christina, My only suggestion would be to post the plan.
