  1. I made these in CA using CA's blocks and some of my own modifications..simple really. Could be made to be color aw/overlays etc:
  2. Google drive will not support co-authoring/file locking/live-authoring, per several tech support agents I've spoken with whereas Microsoft onedrive and dropbox will. My user catalog and all of chief process' are in onedrive and work well for the most part except for this one glitch
  3. Let me know their cost, maybe next time I'll compete
  4. Post the 3ds and I'll have a looksie
  5. I can confirm that nearly EVERY time I right click in an open/save window w/in CA, chief crashes. Windows 10 CA x10 saving in onedrive. I think there is a conflict with file locking
  6. There was a Louis CK comedy bit talking about how angry people would get at poor service with an airline. His response was something along the lines of: isn't it amazing that we can fly?(albeit a bit more graphic and hilarious) I have had my own frustrations w/X10, and I have encountered this error before where I had to revert back to a previous auto-save. I do miss the pic you had up before as your profile avatar..I laughed @ the new one. funny!
  7. Frequently when I have had a plan open and I have been working for a while, I will go to either save the existing plan or open a new one for reference. In the save window, I will often hit ctrl+sh1ft+n to create a new folder for my plan and often times chief crashes. Also, if in an open window I right click in the window, chief crashes. I can't reproduce this every time, but it happens A LOT!
  8. You're the man, thank you for the effort. This plan is such a mess, I was in such a rush, saved me!
  9. I almost sent you a PM before I posted this b/c I figured you would have the solution; Of course as soon as I read your response I thought "DOH!, he's right," but alas, I manually dragged the walls up and the problem still exists. I agree that joinery would be my first assumption for this sort of thing, but it reminds me of a poly face issue I've had before. I guess I will have to dig into this one myself when I can find the patience
  10. Just tried your suggestion. Triangles still exist even if I remove all texture files from the cln'g mat'l. Maybe it has to do with insufficient lighting. I haven't dug in on this one yet but thought someone might save me the time if they had encountered something similar.
  11. I've ran into this problem before and don't remember the solution. Working on this kitchen design and the cln'g mat'l is being such a nuisance. Id prefer presenting this particular kitchen in PBR as the levels of sheen really make this stand out in a way that I can't achieve in regular 3d view. 554 MINER RD goofing.plan
  12. Hey Eric,

Being the guru of Auto-roof I wanted to ask, Is it possible to have a shed roof in roof group 0 slope down to a hip which serves as the high shed on a lower garage roof group 1?

I can do it manually but I could not get it to work with auto-build

Here is a terrible pic taken by my company owner for reference:

Not sure I understand how the roofs are set up, but I'm guessing no.

What might be handy when using roof groups is roof directives in walls tied to a roof group, so one wall could have multiple roof directives, each tied to a specific roof group.

All kinds of workarounds used by the Home Designer users that do not have manual roofs.

  13. Off the top of my head I would guess that checking “cabinet filler” in the .dbx might get you what you want...just can’t remember if that retains paneling
  14. Well my idea of phenomenal ended up being WAY too large a file for CA to handle. SO this will have to do for now: lime wash brick texture.calibz
  15. Ha, I removed that line...but appreciate the candor. I can probably make something pretty phenomenal for you.. gonna give it a shot..stay tuned
  16. Check the ticker for "blend with texture" in the brick mat'l dbx under the "texture" tab -would be the might-be-good-enough solution. Alternatively I could build you some good reflection, bump, normals, and ambient occlusions maps. Have an image of what you're looking for
  17. That would be the CAD layer's text style that your current layer-set defaults to. If you were drawing a line with an anno/layer set that defaulted to "CAD,default" then go to layer management and see which text style is being used for that layer. You can set a new text style or modify the existing there.
  18. I’ve had hanging CA issues in past that had to do with other virtual display drivers such as duet or teamviewer. Worth checking
  19. You can always block a slab-poly and click to treat it as a cabinet in the dbx. Then go to your cab schedule and check to include "other" Saying this from memory, should be close to correct
  20. Hard to describe these. Beautiful in plan and 3d line views. even workable in elevations. will adjust transparencies on request. Perfect for color illustration over/under-lays. click this link: RABBITTS CAD TREES.calibz and as always, enjoy!
  21. They use type II dryers, next page of the link I provided
  22. This is an excerpt from San Diego's 2013 code changes Richard pointed out the correct code for type 1 dryers. There may be some work around's that may or may not be worth the effort. The city can approve a manufacturers allowed installation parameters. Take a look here: http://epubs.iapmo.org/2016/CMC/mobile/index.html#p=129
  23. No easy way to do it..I added it to the suggestions forum a couple of weeks ago for the second time. Easiest method for me is to setup anno/layer sets to have all layers off 'cept the layer you wish to print. Send one sheet to the layout and print to PDF. Then switch anno/layer sets and print to PDF again. The using a PDF software like acrobat pro, You can combine and properly switch off layers(tutorials are on the web) Here's an example one I did real quick: Fell Street Electrical Reference.pdf Note that without inserting buttons(HTML etc) to manage layers, web viewers don't typically allow you to turn them on and off. Making it an added layer of complication
