Renerabbitt replied to Renerabbitt's topic in Symbols and Content
POST 20 A starter pack to create templates for kitchen PBR ** each of these textures can utilize the "blend with material tool" to create a ton of additional materials** This includes the following library items: My recessed LED 6" cans specifically made to create more realistic light A re-worked version of my oak plank floor. (blend with dark brown for a great looking Dark Oak floor) A wall gyp bd and ceiling gyp bd specifically made to maintain shadows at the wall-to-ceiling transition...this will be subtle yet have a large impact on the scene. Remember to blend with your wall color.(this texture is size restricted to 10' max height) A white and a brown countertop material with special reflection maps White subway tile with grey grout- also blends with with most colors A glass material specifically made for round glass like bar-ware Appliance Nickel/Stainless Material A cabinet wood material that blends extremely well with other colors DOWNLOAD: RABS STARTER KITCHEN MATERIAL PACKAGE.calibz These materials were created from this video, a catchall video showing my process for creating some of these materials CLICK TO GO BACK TO THE INDEX!- 249 replies

Not that know of- The material files I use in Thea use the same material diffuse/bump/normal/roughness maps as CA so that I don't need to constantly update both
-
Thanks as well.. do you happen to have a crappy render .plan to share ? Haha
-
Exactly what I was hoping for in a response, thank you very much. I know I wasnt very clear in the video but one of the major points is that I only have to setup these default materials once and then all subsequent kitchens etc. Will look good with only a few minutes time. I ended up saving all the materials to defaults after the video. I'll break a video into parts as suggested . Do you have a kitchen .plan file you could share? I could use it as an example

This video is pretty long, looking for a ton of feedback so I can narrow down a direction and compile videos that will be meaningful to everyone. Going over some good tricks and tips for creating awesome looking scenes with little to no effort after templating

Another Problem to go Along with the Last One I Posted
Renerabbitt replied to contractcad's topic in General Q & A
Would you please post your .plan file and .layout file -
another vid! Larry I tried to focus a bit more on the benefit for the roof plan in particular 2019-02-15 10-35-18.mp4

Also, being able to keep macros contained to a New vs Existing plans really helps eliminate some difficult scripting. Say you have an existing window SHGC and U-Factor macro- I don't have to mess around with which windows are new or existing, or have to switch default windows etc..., I just get to drop it in a text box and it's done because the plans are split apart.

welcome, this has been a productive back and forth, thanks for your time as well. It's like I haven't fully grasped the weight of these methods to properly convey why I think they are so important. Hard to describe really. My template existing plan has default materials that blank out patterns and grey out walls. I don't ever need to go into a DBX for layer properties ever again! if it weren't for the User Library, I WOULD ALWAYS HAVE FULL SCREEN WOOOOO! 2019-02-14 16-52-05.mp4

would you mind posting your .plan file?

Joe I'm new to macros so I don't immediately see the use-case for what you are mentioning. Can you give an example of use for note-room attributes with OIP's?

My vids always take a while to process, maybe because I record in 1080? will be fuzzy for 10 minutes

this! +1 haha
