RL-inc
Does anyone know of a simple and inexpensive program for editing PDF files? Nothing too extreme- just want to edit text, lines, relocate views, etc....

RodCole
PDF 2 CAD is what I use and it has worked fairly well for me so far.
Kiwideziner
I have used Foxit editor for years reasonably cheap and has most of the functions of Acrobat.

R_Seales
I use Bluebeam Revu, it's not a freebie but it has all the features you mentioned and then some. http://www.bluebeam.com/us/products/revu/

RL-inc
My engineer has Bluebeam and really likes it- if i go with a pdf converter i would probaly lean that way since i can get some help from him with the learnig curve. I do like the idea of a PDF to DWG converter though- then just impoert into CA and edit. Seems like one less program to learn in an already busy schedule. MarkMc
I've had mixed results converting PDF to DWG- it seamed to depend on the file provided. Some files worked great, some were useless. I haven't messed with a conversion in something like 5 years. I think I tried every converter available at the time. Are they more consistent now than what I ran into? I now open in BB and export as png to bring into Chief for tracing. ON a good day the supplied PDF has layers so I can turn off what is not needed and clean it up.(wish we could get layered pdfs from Chief)
JLDrafting
I have struggled with the conversion thing and tried PDF to DWG, but it will not convert Raster images, only vector. A single line could be a lot of segments too. I've never used BB, but the permit office here uses it and can process plans submitted in PDF if it has an electronic seal by an engineer.
