How do I make my terrain hole edits stick?

I've various things in my plan such as a post supported room and bay windows and an unexcavated porch that require I edit the terrain hole.  I don't want to uncheck the option that results in terrain through the building.

I go into terrain mode, plan view, click terrain, click the edit terrain hole thing, perform edits, and when I take a camera view, it is like nothing happened.  And I unchecked auto rebuild terrain.

When you select the terrain and use the "make terrain hole around building", it should automatically turn off "hide terrain intersected by building".  If it's not off, then turn it off otherwise the program will keep cutting out where it thinks the building is.  You want it to just use your manual hole instead.  You can probably keep auto rebuild on otherwise you won't know there is a problem until you rebuild the terrain manually.

That doesn't always solve the problem if you have a stepped or multi-level foundation

hmmm...I havent remembered an issue with stepped foundations with the terrain on the foundation level.

The more common case here are main floor cantilevers, especially for fireplaces. Terrain on the foundation level then means never having to think about filling in the cant hole

I think there have been multiple suggestions around this whole issue, and one of them seemed to pique CA's interest (I think it was the suggestion to be able to edit the terrain on any level). So maybe the tradeoffs of using one way vs the other will all go away in X19 (one can always hope!)

I am stumped as well. It looks like even though your terrain has "hide terrain intersected by building" turned off it is still generating a terrain hole for some reason.  I would send it into tech support and have them look into it.

Thanks, @Renerabbitt!  I show here my screen, I'm in terrain mode, layerset All layers OFF, and as you can see, I turned ON the terrain perimeter layer, and terrain features layer (in which sit the polyline holes).  Don't know how, but yes, there are four.  I select one, key DELETE, but it does not delete.  What is the secret here to a.) deleting a hole feature, and b.) editing the only one I need?

I am completely lost with this one.  Here is the plan file.  I need to edit the hole at the bay windows, the cantilevered room, and at the screened porch.

You have like 17 terrain holes lol.

Delete them all, then create a new hole and modify:

Edit, 16 terrain holes and 1 terrain feature :P
