meanwhile
I'm working on a project where the contractor decided to frame an extra stud layer on the interior side of this kitchen (in order to create enough depth for plumbing and a washer/dryer hookup). How do I adjust the way the walls connect at the corners so that the extra framing layer hugs the inside of the walls on each side, rather than cutting halfway through them? SHCanada2
i have to do that every once in awhile and have not run into that issue. Do you have two walls there or one wall with 2 walls in the definition? regardless, have you tried the wall intersection tool?

meanwhile
Just a single wall on my end with 2 layers of framing in the definition. Strange it's behaving differently over here. I'm unfortunately using Home Designer and dang, looks like there is no wall intersection tool. I did try adjusting the Through Wall at Start/End intersection settings, but that causes it to go all the way through to the exterior of the house, which of course isn't right. Oh well, I'll just let this one go. Thanks anyway all Edited May 16 by meanwhile
SHCanada2
i will normally put a second wall with no room definition, or break the wall and change the thickness

Below is simply a "partition wall" Drywall on interior side only. Check "partition" in the wall type definition dbx (wall properties tab) It won't connect to the (in this case) two perpendicular walls. I often have to do this for when I have plumbing coming up an exterior wall. (can't have that here in the great white north) Edited May 17 by Michael_Gia

meanwhile
The professionals have saved me again. Thanks guys! Note to any other Home Designer users in the future – there is no "Partition Wall" checkbox in HD, but the way to achieve the equivalent (as described in the manual) is to make a copy of the Glass Shower wall type and define the glass layer as Fir Framing, 3.5″, and add the Drywall layer.

jtcapa1
I had a similar issue that Rene covered in his last Template Tuesday, where I've got an external glass pocket door. I need the exterior to remain solid studs for lateral engineering, so the pocket must be the interior wall. In my case I just created a new wall that was wider, but used the 'offset panel' to the interior side.
