PitMan71
Anybody have any success with wall hatching for making a handout or presentation style floor plan? I have tried the wall hatching, but it covers the entire wall and I would prefer it only cover the main layer and let brick hatching be what it is. Not only that but it leaves gaps at 3 and 4 way intersections. It would be nice to have control over wall display and hatching in different views which help streamline things. I am also open to a better way to accomplish this. Im sure someone has encountered this before.

You might play around with the method described here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01142/creating-an-image-for-use-in-a-brochure-flyer-or-website.html It uses a Top View 3D Ortho to give you a "flyer" type of look to the design, then overlays the floor plan for annotations. I've also done something similar, but used the cross section slider to display doors and windows in the 3D Ortho view without having to overlay the floor plan. I like that look better, and then you could add a plan view with just the room names and dimensions, instead of the entire plan which doesn't always look right with the 3D ortho.
DRAWZILLA
You could also try the "poche" tool in the camera DBX, it will also fill the walls
MollyNDG
I'm not sure I am fully understanding what you are trying to do, is it more like this? If so, I just use the fills for each layer in the wall definition and I have not had the issue of gaps in intersections like you seem to be having.

Michael_Gia
It's the door opening indicators that are really missing to achieve this look.

I know you can do this with the wall display options in wall definition, I just prefer this ;look only for marketing materials. SO I used the wall hatch tool. Anyway, it's causing the gaps you are seeing at the intersection. My standard wall fill in wall def looks like yours without the gaps, only it is gray. Shane, Could you do this with two layout boxes stacked with different plan views? One plan view with standard walls (all layers) and one plan view with black poche' and main wall layer only? Here's a test: Jim
