I bet that has something to do with project management turned on.
DBCooper
X17 is going to work differently than older versions when you have project management turned on. So you can either turn off the project management or learn how to use it. These might be a good starting point: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03217/working-with-the-project-browser-using-project-management.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03205/copying-projects-or-files-using-project-management.html Or, if you just don't want to learn how to use it: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03210/enabling-or-disabling-project-management.html
HDPWestCoast
Thank you all! Removing Project Management from Preferences did the trick. Now it appears in the File drop down menu.
builtright3
FOR WHAT ITS WORTH It's tough getting used to project management but the more I use it and understand it the more I love it. It’s really handy and I’m sure it will get even better with time. Just my opinion
Doug_N
If you are using project management, and open a file but respond to the opening dialog by selection do not import to a new project, then the "save as" is there, same as x-16. To save a file as something else you can export a plan file from the project browser (or all the files in a file of the browser) to a location outside of the management system. There is a second method for saving as that is sort of counter intuitive that I will show later. The above is for an entire project. For an individual file you just save that file with an opportunity to rename it. The warning tells you that the saved file has no connection to the project, which is probably what you might want anyway. It saves the plan in a zip folder Saving a file with an alternate name in the project management system. Start by copying the file that you want to have a different name. LMC and make a copy. The new plan file may be renamed.
