rwdozier
I don't know where the setting may be, but mine is automatic.
Gawdzira
Possible situation is that your ceiling at the open porch area is set too high.

I had this come up a week or so ago. In a section view, drag the bottom of the joist more toward the roof and it should clip it. Also, there might need to be a railing wall or beam there for it to recognize that there is something to bear on. In my case, there was an exterior wall. I just drug the joist toward the roof and the system clipped it. You can always just turn off framing layer in that view AND you might be able to apply a profile to those ends if the above doesn't work. That ways my backup plan. Just remember you can only scarf cut a joist so much before its structural integrity is compromised.

Below is how I framed it.
MPDesign
Happy New Year! Question-thoughts: Is your roof framing 2x6? Seat cut correct? Did you auto frame or manual ceiling framing?

Did you auto frame or manual ceiling framing? I auto frame it and then clean it up which includes me manual framing some areas. Framing is actually my favorite part of plans. Yes, those are 2x6's and other areas are tapered just not the porch for some reason.
