Tapered Joists

How do you guys taper joists when the program doesn't do it? See below and thanks!

I don't know where the setting may be, but mine is automatic.

Possible situation is that your ceiling at the open porch area is set too high.

I had this come up a week or so ago. In a section view, drag the bottom of the joist more toward the roof and it should clip it. Also, there might need to be a railing wall or beam there for it to recognize that there is something to bear on. In my case, there was an exterior wall. I just drug the joist toward the roof and the system clipped it.

You can always just turn off framing layer in that view AND you might be able to apply a profile to those ends if the above doesn't work. That ways my backup plan. Just remember you can only scarf cut a joist so much before its structural integrity is compromised.

Nah, I wish it were that easy but it is 9' like the rest of the home. Thanks

Yeah, for some reason this happens every now and then. I usually turn it off but really would like to have a solution. Below is how I framed it.
