Why these annoying point markers in a CAD detail?

I am drawing a CAD detail on a CAD detail page (CAD > Cad Detail Management > New) and have used the line tool, rectangle tool, spline tool, and made a few point to point moves of rectangles as I blocked everything in.

 

Look at this.  See the point markers?

 

I have deleted the five points once, did a screen move, they came on again, and I deleted them again.  Now they have re-appeared.

 

Why this behavior?

If I remember correctly, these point markers are remnants from temporary dimensions. A bug if I'm not mistaken...obviously they should not be generated and remain because of temporary dimensions. It is annoying.

Rob is likely correct if you use the Point to Point Dimension Tool, it will leave point makers if the Tool doesn't find something else to snap too, it snaps to the dimension grid I believe in that case, you can move the point to an object/cad line though too.

 

The point markers can be set to a much smaller size if needed in the defaults for the View being used. Do you have dimensions turned on in the view? you should be able to delete the Dim String which should delete the point Marker too.

 

off course you may have found a bug of some kind too, if using X17 report it.... if it not the Pt to Pt Tool issue above.

I'm experiencing the same issue.  There's got to be some default or preference somewhere to turn these off.  Any help with this is greatly appreciated.  (Anyone gotta bottle of Wite-out?!?)

Are you using X17 or X18?  If using X17, are you on the latest update?  If not, then you should get it because if it was a bug then it may have been fixed.  I just looked through the update notes for X17 but I didn't see anything that looked like it was related though.

 

I also played around in X17 for a bit but I did not get any point markers.  I tried everything I could think of with the point-to-point tool and nothing showed up.  

 

The only other obvious thing you should check for is to see if you have accidently turned on arc centers.

 

If you are using the latest version of X17 and you don't have arc centers turned on, then you might want to post your plan, or at least a picture of what you are seeing, or maybe tell us what you are doing that causes the points to appear, or if all else fails, then contact tech support.  Other than that, I can't think of anything else that might help.
