JBi-PDX
When I place a doorway in a wall, the drywall layer doesn't show as wrapping the opening in plan view. Why is this? I've checked all my layers so that only the framing layer is set at framing. The two drywall layers are set as interior and exterior layers. It appears correctly in 3D, but not plan view. It's kind of annoying that it doesn't show up correctly. drywall.pdf
PitMan71
I have noticed that too. I haven't worried too much about it.
Rookie65
Did you remember to delete the jamb and casing from the doorway?
JBi-PDX
Rookie65 - good question. Yes, I did remove the jamb and casing. I actually have that set in my defaults for doorways.
DBCooper
You might get close to what you want by turning on the jamb, making it 1/2" thick, and setting the material to drywall.

mthd97
@Renerabbitthad a free wall cut away symbol/tool, that might work for now if it looks right in plan view as well ?

It's been doing this as long as I can remember.. I just learned not to worry about it, like Shane. BUT if I needed to show it, I'd do exactly what DB suggested. Only issue with this that I can see is that in the 3D view the base molding doesn't wrap around the inside edge of the doorway. 17 hours ago, Doug_N said: I think you should report that as a bug. This I agree with. Seems like without any trim this would be obvious.
Doug_N
Strangely enough, although it looks wrong in plan it is fine in 3D including the molding continuing around the jamb or through when flush with the wall. I then wondered, what if you didn't want the moulding on the door opening, but I haven't experimented with that yet.
