How to create destressed colors

Recommended Posts

I just started a project were the clients wants to build a small apartment building with a couple of attached shops. They want the style to be of an old Tuscany village.
They built a model of the building with the colors an materials they want to use. I have attached a picture of their model.

One unit they want destressed yellow plaster. Another unit they want it to look like brick walls that were covered with a yellow plaster that has been waring off over the years.

The question I have is, how do I get the exterior walls in Chief to look like the walls in their model ? Are there patterns that look like their model ? If not is there a way to create these

patterns ?

Thanks,

Mike

Just searching images on your favorite search engine will yield a vast library of finishes: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=distressed+walls+seamless+texture&qs=n&form=QBIR&sp=-1&lq=0&pq=distressed walls seamless texture&sc=10-33&cvid=E2E8B18D8DBD48718219952F69EBEAA9&ghsh=0&ghacc=0&first=1&cw=1491&ch=799

Take note of the search terms I used, you want a seamless texture to avoid a 'checkerboard' effect.

There are also a great number of sites that specialize in high quality images or rendering, here are a couple:

The type of image you are showing in the model is going to be custom painting on your elevations. You will not get that in a Chief model due to the lack of texture repetition. If I was doing this I would do something close and then run the rendered image through https://fotosketcher.com/  and make it super dirty so it is an idea of the texture.  For the actual elevations I would hand sketch over the mostly blank elevations (texture very vague).
