DMJRestorations
Is there any videos showing how to create a roof plan for a layout? I have a two story home with roofs on both floors, and I want to show the roof planes, with arrows and slopes. I have tried to find something, but I guess I’m using the wrong search terms. DMJRestorations
I'm trying to create a plan to send on to an engineer, and I would like to have a page in my layout to show the roof, along with it's pitches. Something similar to these two documents, which I did not create. These are just examples from a different project of mine. I did not make these in Chief Architect, but it is essentially what I am trying to create. Just don't know the best way of doing it.

With Roofs on 2 separate floors you would need to use reference floors. Just set up a Layerset that only shows the Roof Planes, Gutters, etc. and Roof Labels along with the Building Perimeter. Create a "Saved Roof Plan" for each Floor and then Display the Top Floor with the Floor Below as a Referenced Floor. Then send that view to your Layout. glennw
Chief has a couple of tools that may also help. Display On Floor Above Display On Floor Below These tools do not move the actual roof plane to another floor - they just display the selected roof planes on another floor.
