RL-inc
I downloaded the Jenn-Air library from CA for X6 but it is missing some specialty items that I need. The local appliance dealer here wants to remodel the showroom and I need a coffee bar and steam oven. Jenn-Air has a 20-20 library but I can't seem to figure out how to get the symbols into CA in a format that I can use. The file type is listed as SHP. Any suggestions? lbuttery
Chief can't import .SHP files http://whatis.techtarget.com/fileformat/SHP-Shapefile-spatial-data-format-used-by-many-GIS-programs You would have to convert to a format that Chief can import look at MENU - FILE - IMPORT for allowable file types Lew
Gary_M
Rob, Message me and I'll give you my email address to send me a couple of the shp files and I'll see if I can get them for you.
Dennis_Gavin
Gary - if you could share those symbols when created it would be much appreciated!
rlackore
The Jenn-Air site has SketchUp models available for all their products, including the Steam Oven. Just navigate to the product page and click on the CAD AND DESIGN FILES tab at the bottom.
Joe_Carrick
If you open the SHP file in sketchup you can export it to 3DS which can then be imported into Chief as a symbol.
Dennis_Gavin
Robert - OK thanks. Joe, I think you need SU Pro for that no?
ebdesign
Thanks Rob for the pointer. Just drag/drop the *.skp into Chief plan view. Easy-peasy. That would be the easiest way. SketchUp Pro '14 cannot import *.shp files that I can see. Chief may not be able to handle latest *.skp files. although I go back & forth w/ *.skp files outta my version w/ no problems in X6 that I remember.
