I finally had some time to play with the new grass tool on X15.

I think we need a dedicated tips and ticks thread to grass where everyone posts a picture of their grass and the settings.

Then everyone can just peruse grass all day instead of everyone spending all day creating grass. And then there will be a whole bunch of variants of grass to pick from.

Or we pass around the hat to the few that may want to :)

Agreed. I think the new grass region tool is the star of X-15 along with the extend terrain feature.

By the way, you should check out Chief Expert's brick library….

I tried to download by clicking the button but nothing is happening. I tried in Chrome and in Brave browsers.

I do have that in my user library. Unfortunately I did not have it when I did this project several years ago.

The builder I drew this plan for is putting it in the parade of homes here in Michigan. They did not want to pay me $1k for a rendering done in Twin Motion, so I again went on a 2D .png plant image spree. I rendered the house in Chief and brought the image into Photoshop. Added the plants and a few trees, used the paint brush to add some shadows and ran it through the Camera Raw filter. Maybe 30 mins of work.

2D Plants and small trees...

Wow!  Been away from the forum for a while.   X15 looks pretty good.   I have a current ssa and have not even take the time to download it.   Might have to get around to it at some point.   Love to see more of what can be done in it so will be following along this thread.

I have been using TM for a while.  Dont really consider myself a rendering person, but it comes along with some of the higher end jobs I do.   Be interesting to see what can be done.

Here are some examples or recent stuff I have done in TM.   No post processing.  These are the direct images out of TM.  Video also renders at same quality.

Need to catch up for sure!

I think I am about at the end, or at lease a good place to say that we can now produce a more life like grass in Chief. Where this topic started a long time ago...

Download the Library of Leaves, Clover and Grunge images from here...
