4hotshoez
I regularly design openings with craftsman style head casing and crown. Currently I do not see a way to do that in Chief. Any ideas?
4hotshoez
Ah! I found it. "Use Interior Lintel". Now I need to create a profile. Thanks for your help.
DRAWZILLA
There is already a crosshead in the lib.

4hotshoez
I have looked at all the libraries I have and do not find it. Is it a bonus Lib?

Joe_Carrick
If you make a Molding Profile you can use that with "Wrap" checked within the Door dbx. The Lintel Symbol has to be manually placed. It's not connected to the Door like a Molding Profile is.
4hotshoez
The millwork section has various 2D shapes (like CA-22) that can be used as extrusions, but how can I open them and edit to create my own by adding or changing a shape? Or even use one in a CAD detail?
glennw
I assume that you are talking about Moldings and not Millwork - there is a difference. To work on a Molding profile, use it on a molding polyline. Take a cross section through the Molding. Cad Detail from View. You can now edit the shape, copy, paste, etc.
Joe_Carrick
This time Glenn is wrong. Select a Molding in the Library (Right Mouse Click) and select "Place Molding Profile" from the context menu. Then place the profile in your drawing, edit it and "Add to Library" the new profile. glennw
Joe, Yes, you are correct. But I don't think that I was wrong - it does work that way. But, yes, yours is the better and easiest way.
Joe_Carrick
Glenn, Sorry for being so emphatic. I agree you were not really wrong but since you so often have the best answer - I just couldn't resist
