SNestor
So...I send an Elevation view to layout. How do you control the weights of specific lines so for instance...the edges of the roof are bolder than say the shingle texture on the roof? Or...the trim on the building stands out from the brick or siding veneer? Is this something I need to setup in the plan file before I send it to layout? I know you can edit line weights in layout...but this seems tedious to have to do an entire elevation this way. If there is a good tutorial on this somewhere please point me to it. Thanks! dshall
Doesn't the layer control line weight?
SNestor
Got me. Is the shingle texture a layer that I can control the color and line weight. I will try that. So... The bottom line is set all line weights and color before sending to layout? Obviously I don't know what I'm doing...yet.
DRAWZILLA
The use of Anno-sets makes this a 1 click situation. Set up an anno-set for elevations sent to the layout, turn patterns down, roof planes bigger, windows bigger or however you want.

And what has not been pointed out is the line style, color and line weight of the SHINGLE PATTERN, I said PATTERN, is controlled buy the MATERIAL DBX....... I think. DRAWZILLA
I could be wrong, its been a long time since I set up my anno-sets but aren't the pattern lines adjustable from either the layer set or the material pattern lines. You can also adjust them in the layout box.
dshall
I could be wrong, its been a long time since I set up my anno-sets but aren't the pattern lines adjustable from either the layer set MAYBE BUT NOT RECOMMENDED or the material pattern lines YES I AGREE, PROBABLY THE BEST METHOD. You can also adjust them in the layout box TOO MUCH WORK. ................
Gawdzira
Yes, you thinks correct. I had always thought the Patterns 3d Views layer would control that but it is done in the materials pattern tab of the dbx.
